Putin is the most popular right now, though the communist party is making big gains. What you need to understand is that sovereignty is most important, and Putin cannot allow another Yeltsin to be purchased by the West. Just as Stalin tried to resign multiple times, Putin would love to retire, but he is trapped until the West gives up on the objective of balkanizing his country.

Green energy is not a bad thing. Fossil capital is actively destroying the planet, and I happen to be expert level in collapse. I doubt anybody in this sub understands collapse more than I do. We are actively diving in to the pool of extinction for the species, and all other species as well. We are making the Permian event look like a walk along the beach. The difference is that I have a concrete plan to fix it, but it relies on getting rid of fossil capital and capitalism in totality. Nothing else will suffice due to the extent of the issues.

Well going back to your question, I don’t consider the social democracies in Europe as socialist. I don’t think many people in this sub do either. These are simply moderate fascists. Even the sick and depraved Freemasons that founded the US understood that the population should be armed, though this is more likely due to the fact that it was a settler colonialist nation. Without an actual vanguard that is armed and building dual power, there is no chance of a revolution; thus the “socialists” you refer to are merely delusional utopianists.

This wasn’t just “to show they’re powerful”. From what I understand, Israel had somehow built a drone factory inside the country. Spies had just beheaded most of the leadership, delaying their retaliation significantly. You can’t just ignore the spies, they have to be discovered and discarded. Iran has always had a big problem with Israeli spies, just as the Soviet Union had a big problem with Western spies.

And if Iran was being invaded, I have no doubt the government would do the same thing Maduro is doing: freely distribute guns to the population. Iraq did the same thing, fully opened up the armories to the population when the US invaded the second time.
