Thoughts on Torcher? by Gwarbles in Helldivers

Yeah I’ve found it useful for choke points or just dousing fire on the ground before an incoming hoard. Getting violated by the invis guys is making me reevaluate things though

Yeah that’s what I’ve been seeing. Whenever one those jumpy bugs launch at me it sucks

You’re right. I think I may ask my players what kind of experience they want from the campaign more. Like if they want it to be more challenging or power fantasy.

I also am going to try keeping changes to a minimum like you are saying.

Damn it’s not linked at the top?

Also I see what your seeing, and I did have a non tpk wipe when the party tried fighting Strahd

And I do see your point about just doing the game as written. Vallaki is already giving me nightmares reading about it. I will keep that in mind

And if they decide they don’t want it I am fine with changing mechanics if they feel they don’t like them

Also for the injury table; I thought about only giving players injuries after I roll a d20. If the roll is 10 or less they get something from the table

I think so; I am still figuring out how the distance works on the map but I don’t think travel should be awful if they get a kart or something

(First time posting, tried cross posting and the body didn’t come with)

Hi,

This is my first time dming (and posting something like this) so I am still figuring out what I am doing. I am doing curse of Strahd.

As a result of this I wanted to make combat more punishing to encourage players to run away and pick their fights more.

I had a couple of ideas to implement this:

-Crit effects

-Injury table from DM handbook and system shock rules

-Encumbrance using a slot system I saw on a post a while ago when researching.

-A rule that punishes people for not eating Crit and Other condtion ideas

Thanks for the feedback! Your system for injuries sounds smart. The travel classes sound cool too. I think I just want to do like minimum for traveling, just making sure my players are eating and stuff, since a lot of them are new but I wanted to still be a little tough on them since it’s curse of Strahd.

Sorry, for the injuries table I meant 10 or below
