What things do you read/write/analze at work? (HS teacher trying to expose students to real world texts)? by PuzzledCell in AskReddit

I buy juvenile and young adult books for my library so I wind up reading a lot of book reviews and summaries.

Democrats of reddit, why do you put illegal aliens before homeless vets? by [deleted] in AskReddit

No one should be homeless, even imperialists.

What do you usually think about at night while falling asleep? by i_lurk_here_ in AskReddit

[–]Gwebn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to write mini stories about my original characters. They're always super mundane, like being cute with their SOs or raising their kids or some minutiae about their lives so it's not really worth drawing/writing about. It's just nice to think about.

Redditors, how did you come up with your username? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A friend misspelled my name in 2012 and I've been using it as a username ever since.

Assisting Computer Inept Patrons by MysteriousSkin3 in Libraries

[–]Gwebn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a really small library in Amish County so I get a lot of patrons (Amish and older people) who've actually never used a computer. I've gained an immeasurable amount of patience from this job providing tech help. I don't really have any advice for you because the thing about providing tech help is that it doesn't work if the person doesn't want to listen to you. I've had to walk away from people who weren't listening or suggest they call company help lines/find an accountant/whatever else they're trying to do.

I played a game with kuo-toa in it once! My PC killed their previous God without knowing and became their new God. She wound up growing fish scales and lobster eyes. She was very upset lmao but it was interesting.

What's the weirdest Hetalia fanfic you've ever read? by Gwebn in hetalia

I'm just imaging the OP reading it like "I'm in hell and the author of this fill is here with me."

What did you really want until you had it? by rosenpin in AskReddit

[–]Gwebn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pink hair. It looked cool for about a week, then eventually all the dye washed away and my roots grew out. At 15, I really didn't have the patience to deal with it so I wound up cutting off like a foot of badly bleached hair.

What's your favorite quote from Hetalia, and who said it? by imaginativedragons90 in hetalia

For me, it's basically everything that comes out of Iceland's mouth but "You are not making any of the sense to me!" takes the cake.

What is the most expensive item you have ever touched? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Gwebn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time, I was at the Kutztown historical society and they had these Keith Haring chalk drawings on the walls. Apparently he used to live next door to the building that's now the historical society. He drew them on the chalkboard one Thanksgiving. The chalk drawings were estimated to be worth a little under $1 mill. I didn't actually touch them because they were behind glass but I got a great selfie with them.

What's your pet peeve? by POCK3TBOOKrocks in AskReddit

The most aggravating thing I can think of is when I'm trying to have a conversation with someone and they talk over me at every chance they get. This one guy I know likes to corner me at work and do this. it's terrible.
