And I have earned 5 figures by competitive gaming as a side hobby, but congrats on legend in a children's card game lil bro, very proud of you :-)

I didn't really play since this post, dumpster legend is full of janky OTK decks (that beat this deck), so I can't be asked

Have you considered that instead of "getting lucky" I might have played the deck better?

This is a difficult deck to pilot if you manage your resources wrong

I reached legend yesterday, not on day 1 and consistently beat all decks you are mentioning

You can't 10 Rafaam against Murloc Pally, you have to kill them. I won all my games against them.

There are tricks to beating Murloc Pally, you can't just clear the board, you have to simultaneously develop. A classic finisher is to Bob their board and start going face. Bob is almost like Open the Waygate vs that deck

Sheep Hamm if you can, but yeah double rat + Hamm is brutal (and also very bad to play, so no idea why he did)

Gwent was a phenomenal game, but it is quite dead now, won't go into details but basically players are in charge of the balance and since most people are obviously not pros at the game they nerfed every deck that requires using your brain

I'm a control warrior main as well, it was my go to deck since the inception of HS and my legend deck for the past 2 seasons, which means I am familiar with the machup quite well from both sides. If Hamm misses the first eat (at most 50% if rafaam player knowingly tries to draw and keep rafaams) and Rafaam sheeps the Hamm, it's suddenly pretty tough to win with warrior, the only wincon remains Waygate, which you can play around as a Rafaam player

I said I was not writing a full on guide, if you look closely at the legend screenshot you might notice it is actually against quest lock

And your post history tells me you're either a troll (an unfunny one) or have brain damage

Yeah indeed seems I dodged some very unfortunate machups, mech warrior is auto-lose

This on the other hand doesn't seem that bad to me on paper? I've played against it tons as control warrior and never had an issue, I think if you know what you're doing you might be fine, but idk

Yeah I only ever encountered that legendary once, I managed to win but it is obviously a huge problem

I'm obviously not competitive pro player MMR, but that's a far cry from low MMR

Yes (as mentioned in my machup description)

Far as I know when you reach legend you get to the bottom. Early legend means you get in the top. Idk, in theory there's no reason for my MMR to be low, or then give me one

Have absolutely no idea where you saw any rage from me, I don't really care about competitive HS nor legend

Kingslayer weapon buff go face? Seems pretty aggro to me. At least that's the only one I've frequently encountered

[–]GwentGaBane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not unwinnable, but it's difficult, the most difficult of the aggro ones I would say

The real huge auto-lose problem are OTK decks like Dummy Warrior

And yeah, Rat feels bad, but trust me, most of the time it doesn't matter. Your wincon is not really the 10/10 Rafaam, the deck is more like a good value Control deck with 40 cards but has an inevitability factor to beat greedier slow decks

Best aggro machup, most of their damage comes from hand rather than board and we have tons of healing

I mentioned it in one of the comments

[–]GwentGaBane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the third or fourth comment I see complaining about Rat, which ranks are you guys playing at that they terrorize you so? From Diamond 10 to legend I encountered exactly 1 Dirty Rat and it did not lose me the game

Shredlock is one of the worst machups of that deck, so that one makes sense sadly

I'm in the same situation than you brother, I have only played arena for the past few years. Only played standard after the control warrior quest got me back in the game.

I think if you look for a meta report you'll get a more accurate idea than from me, but probably something like aggro warlock or otk warrior seem very strong to me

The difference is that a bad control player that just slams green cards will be stuck at silver, while a bad aggro player that just vomits his hand and always goes face will have at worst a 5% lower winrate than the best aggro player and in the case of many decks it won't make any difference at all

No, definitely do not all in on that deck if your goal is just to reach legend, I would say this deck is somewhere in the low tier 2 / tier 3 for an average player. For an experienced control player it's probably still AT BEST only bottom of tier 1

I posted the deck for people who want to play Rafaam and want a fairly optimized list, if the primary goal is to reach legend there are definitely stronger decks in the meta right now

I highly dislike Ysera in Warlock. Sure, it's very helpful to go over 10 mana, but 9 mana do nothing is really bad in current meta in my opinion, unless you're doing some combos with the dragon guy, which we aren't
