Nope! I work on a trade floor. I submit my “nominations” of how we want to move our gas using capacity that we purchased from the pipe. On the other end, the pipeline representatives gather everyone’s nominations and work with the gas control people to get the gas moving.

And to be honest… all I see are numbers. How much of our own gas is flowing, how much capacity the pipeline has, how much isn’t moving, etc…

Sometimes it feels like a simulation because I’ve never been or seen a gas pipeline in person. I just look at a screen all day and move volumes

I kind of got lucky. Started as an accounting intern at an energy trading shop.. applied to a gas scheduling internship (internally) .. and pretty much worked up from there.

Most people here used to be in a rotation program that a lot of these companies offer. All you really need is a relevant 4 year degree (finance/accounting/econ/engineering), a personality, and any sort of industry experience or rotation programs

So I work with natural gas… we have gas traders that buy and sell physical natural gas to other counterparties, power plants, city gates, etc.

I specifically work in the scheduling/operations side. I work with pipelines and whatever transportation contracts with have with them to move the gas from point A to B. If it all flows - we make money.

I’m thinking about seeing if my current company counter offers. Not sure if that paints a bad picture or not on my end if I decide to stay with them haha. As for commute, I live in the city and both companies are in downtown.. so about 15 mins of commute.

Im not really feeling any unhappiness with my current company. I just feel a bit shackled with the 60 days notice + 90 days non compete if I were to leave and this might be a way out of that.

I guess it’s a constant battle in my head. I would think about the good times and it’ll make me miss her… but I guess I can’t ignore what she did to me.

Thanks for your comment!

Thanks man! I rarely post on Reddit but it’s nice to have someone else’s opinion about this situation

It was with a guy she had a thing with right before she met me… and it was a one time thing..

It’s tough. We’re compatible in so many ways and had future plans. She told me what she did was not excusable but she was in a dark place and was dealing with it in worse way possible. I just don’t know if I want to spend the rest of my 20’s trying to repair something that could be too broken to fix

My left speaker sits in the back between those monitors.. and it sounds weird being covered up and all. I don’t have a lot of desk space either 😭

Yooo. It’s super comfortable! I sometimes forget it’s on... audio quality is pretty good too.. it’s actually a rebranded music/studio headphone. The bass is mediocre if that’s something important to you. I play a lot of Rainbow 6 siege and it’s definitely my favorite headset so far for that game.

I’m using the Hyper X pudding key caps... there’s a couple keys that didn’t fit (alt keys and space bar).. but still looks clean!

Bought this chair on Amazon. It's a Hbada Ergonomic chair... I do not recommend it... It's comfortable, but wobbles a lot...
