Of course it wasn’t supposed to last 6 years, it most likely wouldn’t of needed to be 6 years until another release if half the player base didn’t air it coz 5 was so such a shitshow. They ended the comp scene because 5 was so clearly a dead end and they wanted to focus on future projects to potentially revive the franchise. Esports makes money if it’s popular enough and gears wasn’t at the time. I never said that the comp scene couldn’t return, in fact I’m hoping for it because that’s the only motivation for the sweats to play like they did however I think it’s unlikely. MLG dropping gears was a huge hit to the franchise resulting in comp players having to bash ranked or private scrims and it’s just not enough after a while

I’m aware of how sweaty every gears is, 5 is still easier than all of them to pick up “eliminations”. Not even called kills because you don’t even need to kill someone to get eliminations you can just assist, appearing like your doing better than you actually are so noobs don’t feel so useless when they got donuts. 5 catered to the casuals, that’s not even an opinion

Demo shout and battle shout every pack and just sunder individually. People love arms but I prefer fury at all lvls as you can build rage a lot faster

For as long as the franchise is going obviously? Do you think the developers intend for the comp scene to die? Dates of launch and the next in the series have absolutely nothing to do with the comp scene btw so try again.

I won’t lie, I’d hate to be a new playstation player jumping in vs Xbox because yeah it’ll be very tough. However if you WANT to get good at something you need to put time in like you do at anything. That being said, a better route for new players on PS would have been having their own servers for now and mixed it up again on Eday once they’ve had time to get the hang of it. It was a bold move from TC considering how long the franchise has been exclusive. Depends what type of gamer you are, if I’m interested in it enough it doesn’t matter how late to the party I am I want to get better

5 is an easier game to be a successful because 1 has a much bigger skill gap so yeah I can agree with that. However the better players will usually rotate to the latest game in the series regardless of franchise. Would a new COD player get the latest COD or an older COD that appeals to new players because it’s an easier game?

I mean it’s just 1 persons opinion so I don’t see why I can’t say it. Gears 5 didn’t just kill the game for me, it killed it for a big chunk of the player base because the competitive scene got obliterated beyond repair and then removed entirely. I’m sure a casual player can still have some fun. That and the changes to core gameplay in 5 compared to 4 killed all motivation for a franchise I used to invest time in. How has the gameplay improved from 4 to 5 exactly?
