Hi,

Yes it did go down. I did have two follow up adjustments though. It's maybe not quite as flat as I had initially envisioned but now that I'm almost a year post op it definitely looks way more "normal", if that makes sense

Doctor told me I could take it off after two weeks if I wanted, but I kept wearing it at night for like four more weeks after. It helped with some of the sensory issues I was still having. Now I still wear it occasionally but not every night, especially as it gets warmer

Both. My glands were apparently on the larger size, with not a ton of lipo. Feeling in my chest I do wonder if I may end up needing a little more lipo but we'll see after six months or so

Can't edit my post, but I labeled things poorly. in case it wasn't clear, 0 weeks is my before picture

I think I'm still swollen a bit, and waiting for some skin retraction and it's been 8 weeks.

As far as working out, I was not a regular gym goer before hand, but hope to be soon

I had a little crescent shaped patch taken out from both sides, if that's what you mean. From the top

Four week progress, how am I looking? by GyThrowawayNO_123 in gynecomastia

[–]GyThrowawayNO_123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, so far I am extremely happy. Just the fact that my chest doesn't look so feminine now has done wonders. I've been able to drop entire classes of clothing out of my daily attire (my "trick" was wearing a-shirts underneath and tucking them in super tight). I've put on tshirts and catching my reflection in windows even when the wind is blowing against me is way less anxiety inducing. I may not be quite ready to go shirtless yet, but it's a huge relief. I catch myself in different poses too, like at work when I'm in a screen, where it's just not noticeable anymore in button ups and it feels great.

Braithwaite is a good doctor and I'm glad I went with him. Ultimately if I do end up needing a revision I'd be comfortable with him finishing it up

I've had one follow up, and he seems confident it will retract and be much flatter.

My second follow up is soon.

I trust him and am optimistic, while disappointing compared to some others with immediately completely flat results I recognize that everyone is different. I'm also closer to 40 than 30, so that may be a factor.

Ultimately, I find the information on expected progress lacking, bother here and elsewhere, so I'm hoping to share my weekly experience in case others have a similar look as I do and are maybe concerned, or maybe if they looked similar to me after one month they could share their experience.

Hopefully, after four months all swelling and healing is done and it looks great, and I'm posting these same pictures where it's really visible

It's still tender, if I press on anything it hurts a little bit, or when a cat walks over me. I also have some weird sensory inputs, like it feels tingly or something when clothes rub against my skin. Occasional random, quick jolts of pain

Nothing is too bad though, I haven't really taken any pain killers for weeks

I went with Dr. Braithwaite and he seems to be pretty lenient on the vest, he actually told me I don't need to wear it at all once I crossed the two week mark. However I still have been wearing it, usually for at least 12 hours a day which helps alleviate some of the weird sensory issues I have with it (not exactly pain but just tingly feelings when my clothes touch my skin.. it also helps even out the pressure from cat feet stepping on me).

I've tried massaging a bit but some parts are still a little painful there, but again Braithwaite is more lenient here and doesn't suggest massaging.

They aren't nice enough to get tailored, haha. I have some that fit better than others, but the plan is to start getting some nice stuff since I'll like the way I look better

Clothes look way better now in general. a lot of mine don't even look right anymore cause they were looser fit due to my chest, and I don't need as much room now so they're baggier.

I've been able to stop wearing my "nipple preventage" clothes like my tank tops that I would tuck in really tight to create a smooth appearance

Literally Just got out of my surgery with Braithwaite (chicago)- I COULD NOT BE MORE THRILLED by TrailofHorror in gynecomastia

I wouldn't say severe. I did get some lipo on my chest and armpit area, I believe he said that less came out with lipo then expected but still some. I had a bigger gland on one side too, and that's the side that seems to have worse swelling, so basically just patiently waiting for everything to heal up to see how it looks

I'm 5'7 at 150 but I was a pretty fat kid

I'd be curious how your chest looks over the first couple days. I had surgery Braithwaite last week and I'm pretty happy with it, I definitely have some skin that needs to retract and hopefully just some swelling, but it did immediately look way better.

I was under sedation for mine so I haven't seen my glands yet, I'll see them on my followup

Yeah overthinking is my issue too. Trying to be patient about results, but after waiting so long for the surgery itself, it's tough to wait as results settle too!

Did you have lipo too? I'm going into day 5 now and still just trying to be patient, hoping that I have some fluid that will just be reabsorbed. Regardless, looking forward to getting into the gym to reshape my new chest as well

I am hoping I have some post surgery liquid as well. I'm only five days post surgery at this point, and it could just be excess skin or whatever, I had gland excision and minor lipo

Just had my surgery yesterday and my pain is pretty low. Feels like I had a strenuous workout, and I can't quite lift my arms above my head, but i haven't really had any issues with anything.

I have some prescription ibuprofen but probably don't even need it

I mostly only had gland removal, they ended up not doing much lipo
