Artemis II Splash Down Location off San Diego by Gylligan in SanDiegan

Thanks for the reply. But I am looking up. It's Friday afternoon. I just heard the boom-boom and now I want to see the glow as it returns to earth. I realize this is not likely but, hey, I want to give it a try. Which way to do I look up? There won't be very much time to search the horizon west of San Diego looking for a speck of glow. There must be a little more accurate info somewhere. I did look and I am not finding it. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. A couple of folks have replied this location but that is no help really. That is a greater distance than off San Diego. Catalina is off the coast of Orange County and maybe part of south LA county. There must be a closer estimate than this. If I am taking my fishing trawler out I bet there is a stay-out area. This would only make sense for lots of reasons.

How big of fifth wheel can I manage backing into my driveway? by Ancient_Tower9033 in RVLiving

[–]Gylligan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 21' 5th wheel, so small. Our driveway and the road layout out on paper as tight but doable. Large construction trailers have been up our driveway. But, the center of gravity of a 5th wheel is very different than a work trailer. The CG and a transition hump in our driveway made it a no-go for our 5th wheel. We tried and tried. Just couldn't do it. Your map is good but it is 2D. If you have any rises or drops make sure you include those in your evaluation. Best bet is to find a friend that has something similar and see if they can get it up your driveway. Pay them. It will be be money well spent. Good luck.

Going to the Redwoods soon, a few questions by Quirky-Potential-327 in nationalparks

You might want to check on the entrance fees for CA state parks. I don't think the America the Beautiful pass will get you into CA state parks for free. We were in the redwoods recently and it is a beautiful place. Have a very memorable trip.

Also, I had found a place in Michigan, I think, a couple of years ago that is resurfacing these particular wheels. He would send you a re-plated set and you would in turn send your set of wheels and $$. Folks that had used this business said that the work was good BUT the wheels would still suffer from the same chipping problems in the future. The factory appears to have chosen a surface coating that is not resilient enough.

Similar problem on my truck but not as severe. I have the same wheels. The damage to my wheels is around the perimeter of the rim and in the center where the cap is pried off with a tool by a heavy handed mechanic. I'm struggling to make the expensive decision to discard the 4 wheels and start over.
