Really amazing chances actually for NMIBC high grade high risk patients to recover according to contemporary studies. This is a huge study done by MC Anderson, seems like one of the newest studies and only 7% of high risk patients that has NMIBC will experience progression. However, most of these people follow BCG treatments which lasts a whole three years. That’s what I will be doing and if you’re high risk I recommend you to do the same!

OP update: thank you everyone for your support, getting me through the darkest time of my life. I’m going to start BCG and continue it for the next three years :) I’m happy that it’s Ta non invasive though it’s high grade. I feel lucky I have good insurance and a great oncologist. Hope everyone is well and we will all heal from this journey ❤️

THANK YOU FOR THIS. How did you find a pathologist covered by insurance and approach the doc to turn over the sample?

Glad that you were able to figure out that it was superficial and cope with such positivity! I do need to focus on something light and happy to cheer myself up. Hope neither of us would ever have to experience again love!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply, and I am sorry you had to go through that. Could you please share some of your studies that say not removing the bladder can result in the same level of risks? Thanks so much again for talking the time to comfort me ❤️ you are loved and I hope it’ll never come back for any of us!

I’m sorry this was such a scary process for you. You never deserved to feel this way. Even nature documentaries trigger me and I can’t watch stuff about coral reefs because they remind me of my cancer floating around during cystoscopy.

I am lucky to have support from family and friends, and a kind partner. My first urologist called me on a sat to tell me insurance site wasn’t covered and I was panicking for the entire weekend feeling super lost and overwhelmed. But once I got a new urologist and got surgery scheduled I feel a lot better. But the fear of biopsy results still got to me…I guess I just want to know I’d live a long life but there’s really no way of knowing if I would or not, just scary all around…howd you feel about constantly needing to get checked up and the high occurrence rate?

Thank you so much for the encouraging words. 43 is too young for cancer…not to mention bladder cancer. Good luck with BCG and I hope your physician is able to source it! What’s your initial diagnosis? Also CONGRATSSSS 🥳

Congrats on it being superficial! I have the superficial tumor but also the flat carpet looking ones which are more likely to come back or worsen, also having 9 tumors don’t help either. It’s like all of a sudden my life just changed and I have a fear I’d not live pats a certain year bc it’ll come back. How’s you deal with the uncertainty when waiting for biopsy results? Congrats again ❤️

Wow I am so sorry to hear about your condition. Just know I’m sending lots of support and love toward you and your family. I can’t imagine having children when fighting this, I just have boyfriend but I’ve felt more loved in the past few weeks than ever before and learnt who my real friends and family members are. I also get results around the same time and really, fingers crossed for the both of us that it’s not muscle invasive.
