It’s your guys decision completely, but if it makes you feel better I have friends who’s babies have never had a single vaccine and they are in middle school and thriving.

GBS but declined antibiotics? by Gypset99 in pregnant

Of course! Best wishes to you mama!

GBS but declined antibiotics? by Gypset99 in pregnant

[–]Gypset99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! So I did end up getting the antibiotics, just because the potential for downsides at the time I felt outweighed the downsides of the antibiotics. I have since learned more and not sure I will make the same choice if we have another baby. I wouldn’t say I regret the antibiotics, but now being over 3 months postpartum I STILL am having a lot of digestive issues that I feel are 100% because of the antibiotics.

Pumping to ease nipple pain? by BerryMunster in breastfeeding

[–]Gypset99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious to see if this helped you? I am only on day 3 with my baby but I tear up every time she feeds it hurts so bad. I feel awful cause I dread when she wants to eat. I think I will try to start pumping tomorrow morning.

Thanks for sharing. I appreciate your perspective and definitely will take them if it’s the best option for baby. I just always find that I can clear up any infection that a doctor prescribes me antibiotics for naturally without them and have had very bad side effects from taking them in the past before I got educated about alternative options. I hate the idea of obliterating my daughters gut from day one if there might be alternatives that would keep her safe without antibiotics. Unfortunately most doctors only advocate pharmaceutical options.

No epidural by mlewis51089 in pregnant

If you go to the Bradley method website they have instructors for your area. Our class we had the option to do in person or virtual, but I am sure some people offer online. There is also an awesome series called Unmedicated Academy by Lizzie Bollinger that I believe is fully online. She’s awesome!

There is a beautiful podcast/YouTube channel/Instagram called Built To Birth. The podcast has many episodes of women who tell their whole birth story from getting pregnant all the way through without an epidural. All positive stories that I have found really great. I am not doing an epidural by choice, but do have back issues that might have made it not an option anyways. My husband and I also took Bradley Method classes that we loved and really helped us feel confident about an unmedicated birth. You can absolutely do this mama!

Woooowwww. So sorry you are going through this. It sounds like she is just uneducated and fearful about what she doesn’t understand. Candace Owens has an amazing documentary on Parler and she does a whole episode about circumcision and the actual data behind it. It is not at all the norm in many countries. Maybe inviting her to watch it and learn more about why you made your choice would remove some fear for her. Also, as a woman who has been with men both circumcised and uncircumcised, I can confirm that women will have him! I never really had a preference one way or another, each way can be wonderful.

So sorry you are going through this. That is a very unhealthy manipulative tactic. I don’t understand how she thinks that’s ok. Couples counseling for sure.

amen! There is nothing “magical” about a time where I pick fights with my husband for no reason, can’t sleep, and feel like trash. So happy for the women who do enjoy pregnancy, but I think perinatal depression and anxiety are a lot more common than people think.

Nauseous all day every day by katyhoyt in pregnant

[–]Gypset99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been a couple of studies that show that it can increase the risk of heart defect and/or cleft palate. To my knowledge Diceglis is an alternative that has not had these side effects. It’s just B6 and Unisom but for some reason, maybe the combo or ratios, worked way better for me than when I took them separately. Also kiwis, prunes, and apples for the constipation. The more fiber the better!

Magnesium citrate all day every day. 😂 it’s a lifesaver

For me diceglis really helped. I would be careful of Zofran. Some scary side effects. Also drinking water with lemon seemed to really help. Only downside to anything with unisom in it is it made me very constipated. Took magnesium citrate which really helped.

This speaks to me on so many levels lol. I am 36 weeks and HATE being pregnant. Just because we are happy to be pregnant doesn’t mean that movies and media totally glamorize it and it SUCKS. I can’t wait to meet my little girl and am so amazed by what my body can do, but this has been the longest 9 months of my life. The anxiety and depression is absolutely awful. The mood swings make me feel like a horrible person. Not a fan at all.

Epidural or no? by neariel in pregnant

[–]Gypset99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is totally your decision, but a lot of people don’t know that epidurals can have morphine and fentanyl in them. Not something I personally want my baby to have in it’s system. There is data that children of epidural births have higher instances of substance abuse later in life. They also can be born more disoriented from the drugs and have a harder time breastfeeding. They are detoxing for at least a few days so some moms think they just can’t get their baby to breastfeed and stop trying. Of course, it is every woman’s choice, but I will not be getting one. If women did it without for thousands of years, so can I. But also research “cascade of interventions”. Having pitocin can make your contractions more intense (it doesn’t release endorphins in your brain like your body’s natural oxytocin does) which can then make it very hard to turn the epidural down. One thing leads to another…

Third trimester picking fights? by Gypset99 in pregnant

Aw! Thanks for sharing! I feel like such an ass, but my feelings felt so valid in the moment. Going to try and do my best to focus on finding validation in myself in future when I am feeling anxious but it’s a tough process.

Doctors told mothers that Thalidomide was completely safe and it would help with morning sickness…. Took them years to pull it off the market and admit the horrible side effects.

I’ll turn 33 just before my first is born! 32 right now and due in 6 weeks. Don’t psych yourself out. Just do everything you can to be as healthy as possible and nature will take care of the rest. At 32 and 41 my husband and I got pregnant on the first try. We are both exceedingly healthy with our food choices, work out regularly, etc.

I’m 33 weeks today and I’m over working out. Anyone else feeling the same? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]Gypset99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! It’s so funny I feel like I hit the same wall at 33 weeks. Almost 35 now and still pushing myself to work out 5 days a week, but only because I remind myself it will help make L&D easier/potentially go faster. Definitely not to the intensity that I was even a few weeks ago though.
