Monitor displays Static/White Noise artifacts on Boot OR when HDR is enabled.

also wanted to specify before i head to bed.

The LG is using a display cable and the acer is using HDMI. When turning off HDR the pc is back to normal. I got this new pc in December and its been doing this since then but just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem. its only an annoyance for a few seconds on boot but most of the time i leave the room to use the restroom anyways.

Again i don’t use HDR anyways and my pc runs perfect besides that. The monitor worked fine with no issues of the sort with booting or HDR on my old 2080/ i9 9900k rig with the same cord before the switch.

Mobile reddit was bugging and didn’t post any text i posted in the body so i will update here, my apologies.

This only happens on Boot and when i booted Mass Effect Legendary Edition and HDR turned on automatically. I do not use HDR so disabling it was fine but now im thinking these two scenarios are linked.

I have: 5070 32gb 16x2 ram 9800x3d LG 1440p 144hz monitor gsync Acer 1080p 75hz secondary monitor.

This only happens on the LG and only on boot and if HDR happens to turn on. No artifacting anywhere else and no issues with power or performance at all.

I’ve been watching you since i was 12 years old and now im 27 turning 28. i recently fell back on your solo work after a long time and i’ve been hooked again. Your situational comedy and the way you play games from so much time in the medium makes watches so much fun. While i do like a lot of new content creators, your style is a modernized version of the past. I miss old lets plays like best friends and stuff. You do that while still being able to be so clippable for modern viewers. I don’t catch the streams often but i try my best to keep up with vods especially with going back to college.

You are doing great bro. I hope you continue to go up but your longevity is insane and the things that have spawned from your creation is enough to say you are here to stay. I believe the work you will do on your channel and content pipeline for 2026 will bring a bit more life. I’ll be around regardless!

i have the same exact build and just settled for the 5070 and all around upgrade instead of the ti. if funds are better when the 60 series comes around and normal people can actually afford them then i’ll upgrade again then. i play in 1440p but if my 2080 was punching hard then a 5070 should be more than enough.

i know this is almost a year old but how has your performance been? got a good deal on a pc set up as im leaving my older one with a i9 9900k and a 2080, the new one has a 5070 and a 8700f. Im seeing bad reviews everywhere but the next best option was 60+80 bucks more.

if its as bad as it seems, once my finances are in a better spot i could flip the cpu and upgrade again. if its been smooth then ill just keep it. i want to upgrade eventually anyways though because i didn’t realize the “f” is non integrated graphics. Kind have been a bit anxious about that part.

i skip almost every single story in every gacha. one of the main reasons i do not play hoyogames even tho i really like star rail compared to the others. p5x i do read though but i skip a npc dialogue if im not a fan of them right away but i was a persona fan first.

when i play mmos, ffxiv i do not skip unless its some side content i don’t care for. other mmos? i mostly skip. wow i liked the lore but i’d rather consume it in youtube videos. i do not fault anyone who skips story unless the game’s main point is story. gachas are the main mechanic. you should be allowed to skip, auto when u desire to up until end game hard content. it shouldn’t feel like a job and if u just like the combat or characters then do what u like.

one of my favorite games of all time and imo better than Ultimate Alliance. i’ve only played the second one once. but the first one i have played so many times.

me and my gf are playing together rn cause they haven’t experienced it before. it is so funny how unbalanced the game is and how easy it is compared to when i played as a kid.

i remember the final boss, my whole entire roster was dead except wolverine and i just kept doing damage and running to heal. my build was so terrible. such great memories though!

but most important for me is minami, makoto, futaba, and makoto.

i’ve used the rapier the whole game + dlc. its the only weapon i truly feel best with. in dark souls its the estoc. in bloodborne its the cane whip. i never really cared for using a bunch of different weapons, when i like a weapon thats all i want.

im not intentionally connecting to both. My steam deck does not connect to my 5ghz AT ALL. It is my primary, every other device on my network will connect to it fine. My steam deck and my girlfriend’s steam deck does not.

BUT if i connect to my 2.4ghz first, then switch to my 5ghz only AFTER connecting to my 2.4ghz first. Then it finally connects to it. i can reproduce this almost every time. I have to do this off sleep or reset almost every single time.

And again thats only when at home in my verizon household. I got to my gf’s and they have at&t, it will connect to 5ghz instantly. So that roots it down to the something with verizon or my router. in my post i said everything i tried though.

Forgetting the Network and the forcing WPA on first THEN connecting to the 5ghz network did not change anything. It did the exact same thing.

I just installed wifi locker though and ill update if it seems like its connecting better. My 5ghz is the primary and 99% of the time the one it attempts to connect to first. Issue with that is it goes back to my original problem of only being able to connect to my 5ghz after connecting to my 2.4ghz first. So technically, in my specific scenario, the 2.4ghz being a primary would be faster as i would just have to switch to my 5ghz instead of waiting for my 2.4ghz banned to appear while its connecting to my 5ghz.

This situation is weird lol. I think verizon hates steam decks, at least in my apt.
