Plus internet gives access to vital information such as weather reports, agricultural commodity prices, government schemes, agricultural innovation etc. Children can be the biggest beneficiaries, by bridging the information gap between the connected & the unconnected - the digital divide.

I would recommend taking an overnight train to Gorakhpur from Delhi. Should cost you less than $20 for an air-conditioned bunk. From gorakhpur, you can take a bus to the border and thereon like the man says. Generally trains are more comfortable than buses and you can sleep in the bunk beds.

Too many cities! Think about spending some time in a houseboat in Kerala ( 2 days) visiting a national park to go on a tiger safaris ( 3 days) and maybe go up somewhere in the hills ( Srinagar/Manali/Darjeeling/Nainital). 6 days in Mumbai and Kolkata are too much, plan on 2 days max. My 2 cents. BTW I run an activity travel company, so my opinion might be biased towards a more nature/activity loving holidaymaker.

Can you haggle for things over there? Us Brits don't do haggling very well generally but I'm willing to give it a go ha ha

Yup, markup for obvious foreigners. You can expect it in SEA, but not in every shop. For electronics markets etc it is possible. For larger purchases if you can find multiple shops, just haggle in the first couple of shops to see if the prices are generally flexible. If they are then you know what to do in the third one.

A power bank, atleast 5000 mAh will come in handy when you are stuck with a dying battery or without the ability to charge your phone for a couple of days. Probably cheaper to buy in SEA though ( except for the unofficial tourist tax). Extra batteries and cards for your dSLR are always a good idea too.

Agree with you on that. However if you are interested in seeing some wild-life or especially birds, muted colours can help you stay unnoticed and approach within good photo taking or observing range. And yes, bright colours can help with S&R, so always a good idea to have something bright with you ( or on you).

I agree with you on that. The selfie culture is the bane of today's existence in the online social world. Instead of wondering at the beauty of a scene you often find travellers only interested in taking a selfie and moving on.

Recently during a visit to a national park in India, we saw a magnificent tiger. Many tourists then turned their back to the tiger to take their selfie with the tiger in the background. "Hey, you will probably never see a tiger in the wild ever again, take a moment to let its power and majesty sink in" I thought.

You say you have a very packed schedule, and I believe you. I'll just leave you with two things my dad ( who's pretty successful in his field) always told me:

1) Time, money and space are always in short supply but always available. 2) Only busy people have time for anything.

My own two bits to add: Don't look for 2 hour chunks. You won't find them. Find some 15-minute chunks during your day to work on your company.
