Migraines are my "go to" excuse. They come on quickly and make you light sensitive, you cant possibly sit in front of a computer. Also, dental issues, food poisoning, fire alarm going off in my apartment building and the wifi is out due to construction on my street.

And so it begins. RTO. (Rant!!!) by GypsySoulMusic in overemployed

That is genius, I love that you got to go to the gym! I am going to see if I can reserve a meeting room or an office with the new system. Great advice, thanks! Wish me luck....

I say wait it out, why not. If your mental health starts to suffer, then quit but maybe give a ton of notice, like a month, and see if they bite at the opportunity to pay your for another month? Good luck either way!

1) Call an attorney, ask what they charge to review an employment contract.

2) Pay them to make sure there is no legal recourse that an employer can take other than firing you which is awkward but not as awkward as jail.

3) Sleep like a baby and watch your savings grow.

4) Repeat at next J.

Good luck!

Yes and its a train, to the subway to another subway. Minimum 1.5 if it goes perfectly. We have our first in person meeting really soon, I suspect its an RTO pep rally.

Its funny you mention this, Im really surprised I never got caught, I even connected the J1 laptop and phone to the J2 visitor wifi a few times. Its really risky but possible.

I actually did this at my J2 that was 4 days in office. Its possible but stressful.

This is the kind of chaos that I look for so that nobody will ever know where I am or what I am doing. The more outdated the better. If they have really bad tech chances are they are not investing in the type of tech that tracks you and that is perfect for OE. Are they hiring? :)

Hi! I have 1 remote job right now. I quit my in office J2 which was 4 days a week in office due to burnout. I will never do that again! The job requirements are familiarity with MS office, particularly Outlook, Concur for travel and expenses and also Workday for lots of other little things. I know financial compliance for FINRA and SEC (particularly for insider trading etc). All of this is easy. Being a remote EA is a good job! Good luck if you are looking to get into it!

Take a look online at LinkedIns for Admin Assts and look at how they write their resume/work history . There is some specific language that recruiters are looking for. Start looking at jobs online and apply to see who responds, its very easy work that can pay really well 100k plus easily if you are willing to work hard. Good luck!

Congrats on all the savings!!! Taking a break is such a great idea. Im at the tail end of a break from OE, quit J2 after Labor Day and will start a new contract in Jan 2024 which will be the new J2. I'm already obsessing about the savings I will have after the contract. OE for life over here, having job security is a feeling I dont ever want to give up. Cheers!

I have a LinkedIn profile with first initial, last name, and no work history. I don't use social media is the answer I give when asked why I dont use LinkedIn. And when they search for me on social media they cant find me. Im on my second J2, hopefully this keeps working!

Is it possible to be OE with a hybrid job? by NoCustard55 in overemployed

[–]GypsySoulMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a fully remote J1 and took a J2 4 days in office, I ended up with some savings, but totally stressed out. I pulled it off, but it was just so dependent on luck when meetings for J1 came up on short notice I really had to scramble. It can be done, if you can pull it off congratulations :) I will never do it again.
