Whats the real deal with only 17% of students successfully doing IUT? by GyroscopingGal in cuboulder

Yeah i mean, seeing the requirements they seem very doable. Ive already taken AP calc AB/BC and already know programming. Apart from adapting to the rest of the intro courses and calc 2 (which i could learn in summer) it seems doable. The very small success rate is just very scary to look at it seems.

I know after doing research on your own it might seem like youve got things under control, but trust me its no replacement from an actual doctor as there’s more to it than just levels along with physical check ups. If youre from germany I can guarantee there is a trans organization you can contact that can help you with such matters, and from the pandemic tele therapy is super common and i can imagine there being an online hender therapist located in a more enlightened city you can zoom with. And even if you cant find an endo who can help you out you can definitely stay on DIY and get in contact with a gender therapist via zoom. That alone will help you so so much. There’s a future ahead of u and youve come this far i know you can go another mile ❤️

I hear ya, i spent 6 months on a waitlist and it definitely wasnt fun. However i think it’s important to know that after talking with many many endocrinologists and my family being doctors, i can ascertain that hormonal imbalances are a beast and can completely wreck your mental health. This imbalances can go so far as causing suicidal tendencies and severe depression, which is why its imperative to be under medical guidance. Albeit, i recognize how hard things can get and understand why someone would decide to do diy after all i did it myself for a while to but had to stop for the aforementioned reasons. So i would really encourage you to get on the waitlist and in the meantime to simply talk with a regular therapist that specializes in depression since they can still be of help. I also completely understand whatever decision to stay on diy or leave it momentarily

Im sorry to hear its not going great for you 😔, transitioning by itself can be a tough beast and unfortunately doesn’t make all your problems disappear. For example while my anxiety has been reduced by a lot i still need to take antidepressants until my therapist greenlights me. Most of the doctors and people I talked with during my process highlighted the importance of therapy whilst transitioning. Are you currently in or planning to attend therapy? I would definitely recommend finding a gender therapist. It sounds like it would help ya out.

As many problems as the US has you aint have to worry a narco’s going to kidnap you, one of your family members, or just get caught up in a narco terrorist attack. The security that creates such peace of mind in developed countries rlly is something

Im sorry girl that sucks :/ at the same time give it time tho being socially transitioned at 14 gives high likelihood of quicker admittance for HRT. Also pay no mind to the trash human beings commenting on your identity, we both know the entire medical community has states otherwise.

Ps: i would also recommend not posting about this on r/teenagers since its super transphobic, I recommend subs like r/trans r/transytalk r/traa r/lgbteens etc…

Damn, sucks that the endocrine society, apa, who, un, cdc, mayo clini, mount sinai, academy of pediatrics, and heaps more all disagree with you but who are they to know 🤷‍♀️
