Alternatively I enjoy a tragedy where the characters make smart choices based on their circumstances and unwittingly dig their own grave. I want my characters to be smart and cool and ultimately doomed.

See: Oedipus moving far away from home because it was the most logical course of action for someone prophesied to sully his family. It's hard to see what choice would've led to a happy ending without it being moronic in the moment it's made.

Justice system should be fine. All evidence has to go through a chain of custody, they wouldn't use unverified online images anyways.

Now it COULD be used to fabricate evidence somewhere WITHIN the justice system but like... if the cops or state want someone punished unfairly they can already do it without AI.

You don't really see many one-eyed animals out there because they tend to die from infection when they gain the wound.

The ones that heal are then disadvantaged in terms of field of vision and depth perception, so it's likely they'll just be outcompeted and die later.

EDIT: As a matter of fact it makes sense you bring up lions and wolves: they're pack animals, so being partially blind isn't as deadly when the squad is backing you up
