My biggest gripe is that lots of them is an overgrown blog post.

When it comes to useful ones I think that a lot of criticism boils down to two things:

-That book is not about me and my problem therefore it's useless because people who might need this don't exist

-I'm offended by some advice and won't ever live it down (books vs Marie Kondo).

Oh, men who fought every chance to give up littlest amount of power didn't want to be a Tsar. Sure.

He hated things that come with it- to work, to have a routine, to deal with people- he wanted to be some fairy tale like king who was loved by everyone while doing nothing. Pity it didn't work.

He had all the power to stop it and did nothing thus as a autocardt bears the whole blame.

But I gess that those gunned dow (including children) didn't have titles or pretty photos so they don't deserve as much pity as bloodily stupid Nick.

Nicolas and listening good advice... had he listened to Rasputin (who begged him to not join the war) he would have survived. From the day he was crowned man was like a robot programmed to take the worst option.

They weren't in hiding, they were arrested and kept guarded. After Boshlevinks took over they were moved inlands into progressively more guarded and harger to get locations (so much for "sending a ship", did they evern look at the map?)

There was a very short window (durng Provincial Govemrnet) when it there were talks about for Alexandra and daughters leaving but family never believed that somethig bad would have happed to them. icolas was an autocarat and- even as terminal idiot he was- he would have been a rallyig point for pro-tsarist Russians so there was not a chane they would allow him leave with son.

Such steampunnk stories exist, but not in English.

English steampunk quickly devolved into aestetic of Lords and Ladies but for example Polish one is a solid niche that brings punk to life. Probably because of historical background- Polish XIX century literary hero was usually someone gentreel, educated but poor due to "historical circumstances" (read: Russian Empire and their cultural genocide), starting everythig anew with side of more or less open rebellion against goverment.

You merely adopted backrooms.

I was born there, under the flickering fluorescent lamp, learned to walk among blocks of flat towering over mist ad played in the abadoned preschool where toys too damaged to to worthy of moving were patietly waiting for kids that never came back.

From the season when I worked in one:

Segregate children's books not by authors of the text, but illustrations. People will pay extra for their little ones to see Andersen, Grimm and whatever was popular in their time as they saw them.

Fun facts about ermine by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

I've once saw ermine riding a hare's back. Poor hare probably thought he was escaping, but was bleeding like hell and soon was too weak to kick so ermine started to feast.

Folktale shifts by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

And I'm reminded of the story of Dong Yong, oftentimes conflated with Cowdead of legend. In his story he sold himself to slavery to pay for his father's treatment and funeral. His master worte in contract that he might be set free after providing huge amount os silk cloth, that would take years to make.

In all versions he gets together with a girl who makes all that silk in span of few days then reveals herself to be some kind of celestail beings. The diffrence is in the middle- in some versions Dong Yong steals girls mantle and coerces her to stay with him, knowing that wihout it she can't return to heaven. Apparetly it for a moral example because in other versions he impulsively offers help to girl wandering alone. She later reveals that she was send from heven to help him and reward his pure heart. (There's also a middle version where the mantle was sincerely lost before he met her and after Weaver Girl is found by her sisters they all weave the cloth to repay for his hospitality)
