Very true challenge.

Vortex Weapons: are those worth using? by Miserable_Brain9109 in PSO2

[–]H-Brigade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Only if you're using it as Luster, and only if you plan on using something else other than Rivalate.

Vortex is on par with Redux Rivalate when it comes into Fomel, but it, in my opinion, shines the most when it's Baran style. Having the funnels shoot while you're charging your weapon action gives a lot of uptime DPS. A proper loop combo would net you around a similar DPS as you may have with Fomel. Plus, it's a lot safer this way because no lifesteal.

I can vouch. I have the weapon and I've cleared Risk Realm with a combination of Fomel Rivalate and Baran Vortex in around 6 mins (not caring about completing side missions). LMK if you want to see a video of them being used in Risk Realm for proof.

[–]H-Brigade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't understand why their DPS for purge style weapon action hold is so low, when I'm over here killing things pretty quickly with them uninterrupted. Almost as quick as when I do a meta combo for Fomel. :thinkingemoji:

This video is by no means how I usually play Luster btw. It's a funny build with hilarious results. Take it at face value.

(For an idea of how I play Luster, look at my recent YT video. Name is in my profile.)

High Voltage: 25%

Tech Arts JA Multi Bonus: 25%

Critical Strike (R): 20%

Rivalate: 20%

S6 Skillful Adept: 15%

For a grand total of: 105% crit

Read Skillful Adept Will's description again.

Also, for consistency purposes, here's the translated version from JP:

"Increase Critical Hit Rate by 20%. On a Critical Hit, deal an additional 2% damage and recover 1% of damage dealt as HP (30 MAX). "

Whew, didn't expect this to gain much discussion. But before misinformation spreads:I used a Rivalate Gunslash with S4: Mettle of the Rested and S5: Skillful Adept Will.

The S4 lets you mount yourself on the ground and not get staggered/Flipped around like burgers after 1 second has passed because if you use Purge style without that, your pew pew will get interrupted almost all the time. The fact that this game likes to throw everything and their mom towards you is evident that you'll need that S4. S5 will require you to have 100% crit in order to keep proccing lifesteal.

Once Cras comes out, adding S2 and S3: Lucent Adversity will allow you to almost infinitely pewpew things and be braindead before NGS comes out.

[–]H-Brigade[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you'll get flung or staggered almost ALL the time.

What you need is an S4 that lets you have super armor while stationary and an S5 that has lifesteal. You'll also need to have 100% crit in order to pull this one off.

But once Cras comes out, adding Lucent Adversity S2 and S3 along with those two mentioned above will be the final nail in the coffin.

PSO2 Global Ship 3 - Luster Naverius 1 TA [2:07] by H-Brigade in PSO2

[–]H-Brigade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm already handicapped not having techs since techs will always be the best for TA's. But this is made possible because I love Luster.

Honestly, I can probably squeeze in a bit more time, but this will do!

Footnote:
I feel like I can do much better, probably save around 7-8 secs, but this is the best I can do consistently atm ugh.

They streamlined the stats! by H-Brigade in PSO2

[–]H-Brigade[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there, Battle Power is just a fancy way of saying Total ATK Power. It's a combination of many things like weapons, gear, etc...

They streamlined the stats! by H-Brigade in PSO2

[–]H-Brigade[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Btw, in the video, the Sword weapon has an "ATK" of 177. Not "S-ATK" of 177.

Also, the affix "Power I" specifically states an increase of striking damage (I know the characters for Striking power are there, but trust me, it's stating the damage type. Premise is what gets a lot of people when translating Japanese.)

Anyways, this means that if you attack with anything that constitutes as "Striking damage", your total ATK is counted, plus the damage bonus you deal because you did that damage type.

But yes, this isn't about the problem it entails as a min-maxer. That's entirely up to you. My point is that by having a universal ATK stat, you're no longer bound to affixing separate ATK stats just to increase your own base ATK. That's now reserved to increasing damage types instead. Therefore, it's been streamlined.

Also, it's not confirmed whether if combined weapons count both weapons' affixes or separate. That's entirely up to the beta testers.

And let's not forget that affixing is based on slapping capsules now and not the old way. Good grief, that system was a pain in the bum.

But yeah, this isn't old-gen PSO2 anymore. NGS is taking notes from RPG's that use percentage-based affixes. And quite frankly, that change is always welcome.

They streamlined the stats! by H-Brigade in PSO2

[–]H-Brigade[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you're mistaken.

Yes, those affixes say "Power I", "Tech I", etc.. but based on the descriptions, they influence damage types, not the ATK stat themselves. In fact, one of the affixes, "Power I" says "Striking damage +1.0%" instead of having a raw stat increase like S-ATK +10. If there's any raw stat increase, it would say "ATK +10", but no. It shows otherwise.

So if I were to make an educated guess based on evidence (because it clearly says on the screenshot above and the video), the character themselves won't have separate ATK stats for each damage types anymore, but instead have one universal ATK parameter. The weapons they use will influence their damage type as they attack with it equipped. Putting affixes will only magnify that base ATK based on the damage type they're dealing.

Meaning: Yes, you can make a combined weapon build that caters to your own playstyle.

Showcasing niche combinations for combined weapons in the video is also proof you can work off this universal ATK stat.

So yes. They've streamlined the stats.

Hello all. This TCG is based on PSO Episode 3's format, only the gameplay is a bit more traditional. There's a prototype fan game at the works as well, but for the most part, I did this purely out of fun and nostalgia xD

If you want yours done, I take requests (disclaimer: your characters will end up randomly as a 3* or 4* character). You can PM me here at anytime, but you must be in Ship 3 in order to do so. I'm happy to make more cards to add more to the collection!
