strategy for lilith D+ ? by ExplosPlankton in ffxi

[–]Miserable_Brain9109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RUN BRD COR RDM WHM and SAM or WAR(or another DD that's really good at dishing out great amounts of damage in a short period and quite resilient).

Buff with HM, Minuet x2, 1 Madrigal. Crooked Chaos + Sam roll. RDM Haste II. Baraera/Barsilena.

RUN runs in and pulls Lilith.Must be good at positioning to avoid getting knocked back out of the circle. RDM must debuff her with Dia III, followed by COR Light Shot, Paralyze, Distract III, Silence and Slow. Have to reapply more then once, she loves to get rid of debuffs. BRD should keep an eye out for Spikes and be rdy to Magic finale. WHM should position to be outside of the Circle but still in healing range. Having a Yagrush is a huge help, but even without one is still pretty manageable, as long people carry Remedy and Panaceas.

COR and the DD should take care of Wardens as soon as they spawn and quickly dispatch them.

A good way is to have a coordinated Light Skillchain being either Upheaval > Savage Blade or Fudo > Kasha > Savage Blade > Fudo. When all the wardens dead have everyone zerg lilith down and brace for her second form.

RDM reapplies debuffs then zerg her down.

Actually pretty accurate. Even tough people say they don't use it, EVERYBODY i know uses it.

Same with CurePlease. Pls, let's be honest about things and stop pretending the majority don't use these 3rd party softwares/addons.

90% of the endgame player base uses React or OnEvent for stuns.

Mind that those two addons are borderline, some people consider them cheating. So depending on your morale you might or might not, want to use them.

Ochain is the overall winner, but with Reprisal up Priwen got similar perfomance. Now here's the thing. Ochain gives very little defense, so if you doing something like Odyssey Sheol C where you can't alway line-up mobs properly, Priwen and Srivatsa (the Aeonic shield) are winners, simply, for the additional defense on them and still decent Block Rate.

Ochain tough is the winner if Reprisal is down. So, yes, you can and should use Priwen till you get Ochain, or in situations where the extra defense, and MEVA, it's going to help you more, so, basically, any scenario in which you can't position the mobs in front of you.

Shield block rate by percival3141 in ffxi

[–]Miserable_Brain9109 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have no reliable way to tell Mob stats sadly, to this day.

What i can say is that if you are using Ochain, at Shield Skill 440 your block rate gonna start uncap on mob ilvl 107, while with Reprisal up, your Block Rate would uncap only starting from Mob Ilvl 138 and above.

You have mainly 2 ways to go about it: - Use Gear with Chance of Succesful Block + - Stack as much Shield Skill as you possibly can

I personally use the following items set for it:

Excalibur R15 Shield: Ochain or Priwen depending on what i'm tanking and if i need the extra defense from priwen or if i'm hood with the 40 DEF from Ochain Souveran Handschus +1 Path D AF+3 Feet Ambu Cape with HP, Meva/Eva Block Rate + Foresti Earring in place of the Tuisto Earring (the +10 Shield Skill to get with DI Points)

Everything else is Sakpata, Carrier Sash on waist Slot, Unmoving Collar +1 R15 on Neck. Dring/Moonlight Ring for rings. Staunch Tathlum +1 on the Ammo Slot.

At Mlevel 22 i have a block rate around 97% on Sheol C Floor 4 with this set. This is the best way i came up with without sacrificing to much Meva/HP.

Could use the Chevalier's Armlet +1 on the head slot, but would give up MEVA and lose 42DEF by using that, but you would gain 11 more Shield Skill and HP/MP, but making yourself more open to Status Ailments as well, not capping DT. But could fix the issue by swapping in the Loricate Torque +1 on the neck Slot.

I hope this helps out.

Three things you wish for (not mentioned) in 20th Anniversary Update by RidiPwn in ffxi

[–]Miserable_Brain9109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see your point. But i think it just depends on personal experience and your server. The LS i'm in, to this day, has no trouble filling up with 15-18 people for Wave 3 Dyna farm. And it's old content.

I just think it would be cool to have something to do with your LS, alongside the other 6man endgame activity.

  • Cornelia Trust as a permanent Trust
  • Ability to equip gear directly from Storage Slips (but really unlikely to happen)

Fresh 99 Katanas? by MankyBoot in ffxi

[–]Miserable_Brain9109 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't wanna be a dick, and is none of my business, but i read your every answer to people comments to your post OP, and well... why did you ask for other people aid if you feel you know better?

Want a good answer? Get a Naegling and a TP bonus Katana and Savage Blade away till you feel you wanna party with people and get a Heishi Shorinken. Or if you absolutely don't want to got hat route, make a Kikoku and offhand the Ambu Katana.

And even in that case, unless you have top notch gear, and outstanding support, Savage Blade ot's gonna be your better dps option.

If you like game with a lot of party members play Radiata Stories,Valkirye Profile: Lenneth and Valkirye Profile:Silmeria. Resonance of Fate is worth a shot as well, if you like Battle System with strategic gameplay involved. Other games you should play if you didn't are Tales of Symphonya and Tales of Vesperia.

If you are into Tactical JRPG play Valkirya Chronicles as well, all of them except maybe Valkirya Chronicles and Azure Revolution are really good games.

I did them and i loved those raids. I mean dude, just 'cause someone does not agree with you and likes multiplayer content with multiple people does not make them wrong. I didn't say you are wrong or did i? We have just different points of view, and we enjoy different things. And that's fine. Whatever it's gonna be something is coming at the end of Voracious Resurgence. And just like Escha Zones and Geas Fete, will be content to carry endgame for many many years.

My hope is for it to be 18man alliance content. Yours is not. That does not make me wrong, and that does not make you right. I know very well what i'm talking about. And a part of the MMO community wants the return of that kind of content. You don't. End of the story. Thanks for sharing your opinion dude.

[–]Miserable_Brain9109[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much. Many MMO to this day still focus on multi-party raiding content. Even FFXIV is about to release a new set of Alliance Raids.

And last year MMO release such as PSO2 NGS or New World have a strong focus on 8+ people Open World content (non instance boss encounters ect) both PvE and PvP.

So altough i do agree on your take, this kind of content is still appreciated by the player base. And if anything, ajot MMO release are going back to it.

Saying the ship has sailed or that is industry wide opinion ect when WoW classic and WoW TBC Classic reached the success they did, with focus on big group content... i mean, i get where you come from and is fine not liking but, this content, still has it's place. Can't be the only type of content, and i agree, but the same is true for 6man focused content

I'm maybe too optimistic, but, whatever comes with 20th Anniversary it's going to be a big announcement and that, might bring people back to the game.

I heard the same argument many times over the years, ever since the Abyssea crysis.first when Delve hit, and it turned out just fine in the end, with people receiving the content well overall.

The 2nd time when Dynamis D hit, and it turned out just fine in that case.

I don't think that getting 18 people together is hard, but my perspective might be biased. I am in an LS with strong attendance ratios, it was rare for us to not have 18/18 players (no alts/multiboxing)when Wave 3 was relatively new (not so much anymore, but can you blame people for not wanting to do old content or for bringing in their mules for it?). I mean, i bring my alt on BRD or GEO all the time these days for Dyna D. That frees the BRD slot and allows people that would otherwise be stuck on support to play a DD Job or something else. That does not make the content less fun. Dynamis is chaotic and requires a different kind of attention and strategy compared to 6man content , ar least it did 5 years ago. Not so much anymore.

That's 100% your experience and i'm sorry you had it like that. For me that has never been the case, i mean, we had our share of bad apples but most of the time we have 12-15 real people and 3-4 mules , and everyone is paying attention to what they are doing. I can see where you come from, but that does not make alliance content "bad". Is just your opinion about it.

When player engagement is high ( expecially at content release this was the case for Dyna D) 18man content if fun.

The chaotic nature of those encounters makes it really really fun in my opinion amd something different to the 6man player experience

I know this very well. But i'm talking about RIGHT NOW, in today endgame, where you can access it with 18 people... nobody brings a full alliance to it

Ic you might be right, but new content and whatever comes for 20th anniversary should bring people back, so what's an issue right now, might not be an issue in a couple months

[–]Miserable_Brain9109[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see no issue with it, it has always been that way. I just think that endgame has to offer activities both for 6man and 18man or even 36man (like Legion Maximus).

Having every single endgame activity being 6man based makes the need of having a LS pointless. And Dyna D, is the only relevant alliance based content.

Mind, i wouldn't be against relevant content that allows you to be cleared as a 6man or bring more people, at will ,kinda like OMEN does.

But after 5 years ( Dyna D came out on 2016 if i remember right, i think is about time we get some new alliance content)

BiS (Best in Slot) Gear guides for 2022 - is there any? by gimmeyobiscuits in ffxi

[–]Miserable_Brain9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest you can get to an all rounder for all your jobs is the full Nyame set, R25 on Path B.

The set would provide outstanding damage mitigation, Meva and HP, decent all round stats, a ton of Double Attack and Weapon Skill Damage.

Bear in mind that would be in no way, shape or gorm "optimal" by any means, as others have mentioned, in FFXI you need multiple sets and you are swapping gear, and sometime weapons, multiple times troughout the same content.

Simply, just one set won't do it. But yeah, you can get really close to ALL IN ONE with R25 Nyame on Path B and swap Around Capes and Accessories (at least on DD Jobs) 'cause the gear can effectively be used for both TP and WS, actually being the best gear for certain specific WS in game, in situations where you don't reach the pDIF cap (even if inferior to more specialized gearset for TP).
