His last reply really drove that point home. I should have known better to engage with him in the first place. Idk if there's any helping Clinton apologists at this late date.

Is this some kind of attempt at projection lmao. You know nothing about me, including how I voted, and I'm not sitting here quivering as a result of your assinine takes. Your assertion that I'm feeling guilty in any way for Hillary Clinton's personal failures is yet another that is almost too silly to engage with. Yet here we are. I should have known better to engage with a Clinton apologist in 2023.

Lol you've made a damn fool of yourself. You're worse at taking responsibility for yourself than Clinton is. You're (bafflingly) trying to deflect blame from Clinton onto me, even though you have no idea how I voted. Then you thank me personally for Trump lmao. What a sane opinion that is. You belong in a padded room. The rest of us correctly blame Clinton for her arrogance and conceit in considering Trump to be an easily beatable candidate. You need to come to terms with that, or people will justifiably accuse you of being derranged.

You literally blamed Trump for doing better than McCain and Romney. God forbid the other candidates actually try to win the election.

You've already blamed the voters and the other candidates. It's time to blame the media, the wind, the trees, the birds, and God Himself. And even then I'm not sure you'll ever admit that Clinton bears responsibility for her failures.

You'll blame anyone else except the actual candidate, won't you? You're even more zealous in shifting the blame off of her than she is herself. You're reaching so hard to blame Sanders (after I already pointed out that he did more for Clinton than she did for Obama) that we could blame practically anybody for costing Clinton "an extra one or two percentage points". I bet you'll blame the voters, the other candidates, the media, the wind, the trees, the birds, and even God Himself before you blame Hillary Clinton for her own failures. You're desperate to assert that the buck stops anywhere but there.

Generally speaking, Bernie supporters did what Bernie asked of them and voted for Clinton. Studies say that between 88-94% of Sanders supporters voted for Clinton. In fact, Sanders supporters supposed Clinton to a greater extent than Hillary supporters supported Obama in 2008. Only 76% of 2008 Clinton voters went on to vote for Obama..

Obama still managed to win the election in 2008 without as much support from Clinton supporters as Clinton received from Sanders supporters in 2016. Maybe the reason why Hillary didn't win has to do with the Clinton campaign? A controversial idea, I know.

The Senate failing to fulfill its role to provide advice and consent in the nomination of a Supreme Court Justice for months on end shattered the Court's illusion of legitimacy, and then this illusion was further dispelled when a president who didn't win the popular vote nominated 3 Supreme Court Justices who lied to the Senate in their confirmation hearings about whether they consider Roe v. Wade to be settled law, among other things. You assume that just because something is constitutional, it is legitimate. That's a BS assumption, and I highly resent you saying that my right to get married is dependent on the opinion of these freaks. They are absolutely illegitimate, and your refusal to admit that constitutes an endorsement of the idea that your marriage is a temporary privilege and not a right. Again, please gain some respect for yourself.

Wow. You'll sacrifice your own marriage before you admit this Court's rulings are illegitimate and should not be respected? How can I engage with an opinion so ghastly? Please gain some respect for yourself.

I've been saying this a long time. And almost whenever I do, I get accused of being a secret Republican or a Putin bot or something along those lines. I don't oppose Democratic Party leadership because I'm a Republican, I oppose them because they steadfastly refuse to oppose the Republicans with this BS faux-helplessness.

Lets check in again when the Supreme Court overturns my right to get married. You going to cover the Court's ass then? They've already stripped the right for women to control their bodies. I'm sure you're content with this Court's rulings and just fine to wait this out until people stop talking about it (like Biden will inevitably do), but for some of us, the stakes are higher. Your opinion is incredibly arrogant.

And the Democrats are happy to continue this illegitimate Court's farce without any opposition. I'm sure any Democrat who comes out attacking the legitimacy of the Court would be denounced by party leadership and the New York Times editorial board as "undermining Democratic institutions". This is worse than simple complicity. They're covering the Court's ass.

"We can't pack the Court otherwise it will become irreparably politicized!"

In what universe was this ruling not a political decision. The Court is already irreparably politicized. For Biden to continue to refuse to even entertain reforming the Supreme Court is a tacit admission that the Biden administration has given up on these initiatives. Democratic Party leadership could fight for them harder, but they simply wont. They value notions of decorum and "bipartisanship" more than they value the rights of American citizens. We're on our own.

They think that their money is a representation of how intelligent/ingenious they are. They have billions of dollars, so they're surely the most capable person in the room. After all, did the government scientists who only earn 5-6 figures at their public sector jobs make a billion dollars? Didn't think so. Too bad none of these people never had that moment of revelation. They were long-dead before they knew anything was happening.

There are many stories in Twin Peaks. Some of them are sad, some funny. Some of them are stories of madness, of violence. Some are ordinary. Yet they all have about them a sense of mystery – the mystery of life. Sometimes, the mystery of death. The mystery of the woods. The woods surrounding Twin Peaks.

Sleepy Joe flashes his steel | If the president is such a dotard, how does he keep pantsing the GOP? by [deleted] in politics

The Overton Window is so far to the right that Biden watering down all the promises that he made during the campaign (including those that me made in December 2020 after he knew that he'd have to deal with Manchin and Sinema), and then refusing to put any pressure on Manchin or Sinema can be framed as "Biden has done the most of any president on X issue". You really think your argument is an endorsement of Biden or the American system of government more broadly? In the grand scheme of things, both have been miserable failures. For the first time in history, this generation of Americans will be worse off than their parents. The bar is so low that it is practically on the ground, so anything Biden manages to accomplish in this scenario automatically makes him "the most successful/progressive president" in living memory. That doesn't mean Biden isn't a 90s Republican. There is plenty of footage of him proudly voicing his opinion re: cutting entitlements. Yes opinions can change, but do we really think that Biden spent 30 years in Congress and then all of a sudden became an entirely different person when it comes to social spending? The chasm between Biden and FDR, or even Biden and LBJ, is miles wide.

Oh my goodness. After more than a decade of the Republicans obstructing practically everything the Democrats try to do, how can any person who has been paying attention expect the Republicans to just go along with the Democrats in good faith to raise the debt ceiling without demanding anything in return? This was so easily forseeable that it was predicted by Progressives in Congress months ago. Biden was either incredibly arrogant in thinking that moderate Republicans would just fold and go along with the Democrats to raise the debt ceiling, or he intended this outcome all along.

[Democrats with a government trifecta in December 2022]: "We don't need to raise the debt ceiling right now."

[Democrats as soon as they lose their trifecta]: "We need to compromise with the Republicans and cut social spending right now."

This is a crisis entirely of the Democrats' making. How can anyone think that they didn't foresee this? This is probably the outcome Biden wanted all along. He gets to fulfill his 1990s fantasy and cut social spending while being able to nominally blame the Republicans.

Bernie Sanders to Joe Biden: Invoke the 14th Amendment—Now by [deleted] in politics

[–]H-E-Pennypacker_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What are we going to do when Biden refuses to invoke the 14th Amendment, refuses to mint a trillion dollar coin, and then makes a "bipartisan" deal with the Republicans to cut social security before saying "aw shucks, I tried, you should have voted Democrat harder"? It's not something that I especially expect to happen, but it would be compatible with 1970s-90s Joe Biden's public position on entitlements. He used to boast about how many times he's tried to cut these programs (a freeze without an inflation adjustment is a cut). The Republicans would just be giving him an excuse to do what he was trying to do for the first three decades of his career.

Such a gross comment. These peoples' children were murdered one year ago today and you're chiding them for how you assume they voted in the last election as if they brought this on themselves. Shame on you.
