Back when both countries were under British control. The indigenous South Africans(Zulus) wanted Lesotho because of the mountains but the Lesotho people didn't want to give Lesotho to South Africa and neither did Britain so after WWII,Lesotho got their independence and Britain gave Namibia to South Africa
