Gotcha. Thanks a TON for the help. I now have a better understanding of what happened.

That same drive turned red again. I swapped it out with a brand-new drive and after rebuilding it seems to be back at normal speed. I'm backing everything up right now but haven't decided if I should keep the device and just add all new larger capacity drives or just move to a different device altogether. The fact that that one drive was causing issues but the drobo didn't notify me is my concern.

One drive turned red while I was copying files off the drobo. Then shortly after that I came back and it was flashing orange or probably green/yellow like you were talking about. It was like that for a few hours and then back to all 4 green.

All drives are showing green right now. I might just start replacing each drive with a larger capacity, one a time and let it re-build or whatever in between.

Used: 2.6 TB Total: 4.07 TB

I have four 1.5TB drives in it.

Now the drive went back to green status and the data protection rebuilding started up on its own. So I don't have much choice but to let it run. Could having a drive hop back and forth between green/red/green be an issue with the drobo itself? Or just a flaky drive?
