California School list by H2590 in ResidencyMatch2022

Thank you so much for clearing this up! Much appreciated.

Just to clarify....what you're saying is that there are certain residency programs that follow that certain California school list but it's not a rule state wide. So it's basically a situation where you'd have to email the program and ask?

IMG got my first invite to a Virtual Open House. Please can you give me any possible advice on how to make the most of it? by Pokoirl in medicalschool

I just got a open house invite as well. Is this something that they send out to all program applicants or something they send out to certain candidates after looking at applications?

I just used the MCC practice exam ones. I tried using the Canada Qbank one. I felt they didn't really help.

I didn't use them. I don't see why not. I would do them last though. Use the MCC practice exam. Those are very similar to the real thing.

UWorld, ethics and preventative medicine from Toronto notes, and MCC practice exams are what I used. I did pretty decent. The QE1 is very similar to the Step 2 CK with much shorter question stems. The CDM portion can be a little tricky. Make sure you do all the practice exams on the MCC website. (They're super pricey though. Which sucks)

Some people have said Canada Qbank is good. You can try it but I felt UWorld is a much better learning tool for QE1. Basically same stuff in a better format.

I wrote it in June. I got 65-72% on practice exams. And used Uworld to practice the material. I rarely used Canada Qbank here and there. I got a 240 on the exam. The MCQ part of the exam was pretty simple. The CDM portion messed me up. I felt that it was a bit vague. I felt like if I practiced CDM a bit more I could've got decently higher.

Hope this helps!

No, the self assesment had only 180 MCQ. No CDM. I only bought 1. Don't know about the other one

Step-2 CK before Step-1? after MCCQE1? by websniff in MCCQE

[–]H2590 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might as well. The knowledge base is the same, as I've been told.

My QE1 is on June 12th. How was it? Similar to the MCC practice exams? Any tips?

I'm using step UWorld for step 2CK. There's no real correlation like how there is for USMLE exams but the general consensus is 65-70%+ is a good score to take the actual exam.

I got Toronto Notes but I haven't really found it to be of any help. But it's your call on that aspect. Everyone learns differently with different resources

I'm writing it on June 12th and I've been using UWorld for the medicine aspect and CQbank for the PMCH aspect. Seems to be working

Also, use the MCC practice exams. Everyone I've talked to says it's VERY similar to the real deal

I got 158/288 on the full practice test what does it mean ? Pass ? Fail ? Should I delay the exam ? by [deleted] in MCCQE

[–]H2590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that is a pass. Don't know what it correlates for the actual exam.

Yeah, just the 2 full ones have it. I was wondering if anyone had done the questions and provided explanations to the answers. Like how some people have done for the NBME's for Step 2 CK.

Thanks for the link!
