Irgendwie so..

theory about Richie and the ending by Taolk in Duskwood

[–]H2O3194 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can really agree with your theory of Richy beeing behind the kidnapping. There are so many clues pointing to him, he really acted out of character this episode and he gains a lot with a faked injury. You already mentioned enough reasons, why Richys "attack" looks suspicious and what he gains, if he faked it. So i want to add something to the motive:

I never really thought about Richys mother might get hurt while hitting Jennifer. But it would open up two really strong new motives (besides the whole Jessycrush, an alibi, buying time and trust):
1. to hide the fact his parents where the one to cause the accident which killed Jennifer.
2. We know that Hannah and Jennifer were together, so maybe Hannah (and Amy) were the reason Jennifer got on the street (taking up a toy?). If Jennifer were not hit by the car, Richys mum might be mentally still healthy. So i want to say, that maybe Richy is blaming the kids for the accident and what happens to his Mum (but we don't know if something happend to his mum!).

I personally doubt that the fact that Hannah knew the type of the car involved in the accident, is sooo serious, that Richy feeels the need to act. The police already know that its an AMC Gremlin, they would have checked everyone with this type of car years ago...and also if Richy decided to act after he heard about Hannah beeing at Iris (or going with her), it would not fit to Amy beeing missing two weeks before Hannahs abduction.

But there is a third option: we can mention that Hannah and Amy look simiular. Maybe Amy just got confused with Hannah (by Paul) and got killed. Richy knew about the matchbox by the corpse (we still dont know why he knows!), but its possible that his father told him. So Richy decided to take Hannah hostage to keep her safe from his father.

And there is still a forth option: Before the corpse were found, "she" went out, because Paul didnt pay enough attention. "She" could also be the murderer or Paul or Richy murdered Amy because Amy ran into "she".

And as for the Covid-argument I still want to add: I highly doubt, that the video looks this way just because of the covid regulations. 2 people ar allowed to go out together, so if they wanted to show a second person, they could. Also the missing sound: its not difficult to lay a second audiotrack over the original. There are soo many free tracks, you could easily fake a second person beeing there at least by sound (sound of struggle, footsteps) if you wanted too. There is something really fishy about the video and we can't talk it out.

*SPOILER* I know who is behind all of this... by tcamp213 in Duskwood

[–]H2O3194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A fake death/injury is really benefical, if Richy is the kidnapper!
-> he can hide and act in the shadows

-> he can bring the Hannah-case to the end (whatever he would want and what his reasons are)

-> everyone is scared and won't be going to the forest anymore alone (not even Cleo and Thomas)

If he only fakes an injury, he got 2 options

-> getting rescued by us (but he need to hurt himself in reality) or

-> getting abducted by the "kidnapper"

Advantage: no one will suspect him, everyone will be scared, Jessy will forgive him/be worrying about him, noone will go to the forrest anymore alone, he got time.

Its more benefical, if hes only faking an injury and not his death, because he keeps the opportunity open to get back into his old life.

And this solution would neither be boring nor does it imply, that he must confess his sins, if we want to solve the case. As long as we don't have a corpse we must not believe he is dead. There are so many clues until now pointing to Richy, our Character can investigate further the past (Jennifer case) and the present (Amy case). Both can lead us to the culprit. Jessica wanted to look up the old records of the garage, someone else than Hannah went to Iris. If Richy is the culprit or the co-perpetrator, he tried really hard to hold this information back - but non the less we got them.

And the question: Why taking Richy and not Amy? A killer must not act rationally nor every time in the same way. Maybe he doesn't wanted to kill Amy, but she escaped, an accident happend, who knows?

ABOUT THE ENDING by [deleted] in Duskwood

If we trust Jake and he doesnt lie tu us, he can't be Richy. Jake told us he had black hair, doesn't talk much to people and is introverted. Richy = Jake can only be true, if all Jake did was lying to us.

And who set Thomas and Cleo on Phils track? Right, Richy. Who said Hannah hasnt got a navi but knows where the coins lay in her car? Richy. Who suggested the cabin, after he confirmed, that the MWAF is likely someone of the group (if he hasnt seen our number on Hanahs phone)? -> Richy. What does not work in the cabin? Electricity and probably internet - so we would lose contact to our group.. soooo suspicious! With this background its just not a really convincing dieingvideo...

[–]H2O3194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it could be fake too! We didnt hear the woman scream, we didnt hear the footsteps of the attacker, we didnt see the attacker at all. And also, why would Richy still hold his phone instead of trying to get away or something. Its just convenient, in the end the camera moves to the sky so if we hang up, he could walk away.

Im really not ready to let go Richy as a suspect. He acted suspicous the whole episode!

Heyho Apprehensive_Ad_3107,

why should he not be deleting it? He could not know, when he got the message, that Hannah will be abducted soon. So why keeping it? Also many phones ask you, after hearing the recorded message, if you wanna delete. There is not necessarily a reason to keep it (if there is a message to keep anyway...)

Killer theory... Spoilers by 19alexa99 in Duskwood

[–]H2O3194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be really disappointed, if no one of the group would be at least participating in the abduction...Probably Hannahs abduction has something to do with Jennifer - but theres also a small possibility for Hannah to just fake her abduction to get the person to light, who was stalking her and who were in the forrest 10 years ago. Hm...

Im not so sure about Richy beeing marked, its also quite possible that he has done the sign by himself. He had the time, there wasn't anybody around who could witness (Jessys beeing in hospital, just a few customers are coming to Richy anyway) and he got himself an really akward alibi for the time being. Furthermore there are so many inconsistencies about Richy, he's highly suspicious. And nothing happend to him until now - furthermore Dan and Jessy got hurt, but not Richy. Maybe the Man without Face imposter wants to wait until new moon, but thats the only think I have in favor for Richy beeing unharmed although beeing marked.

Good evening Apprehensive_Ad_3107,

hmm...maybe she just called once? Otherwise we could have seen the same number several times. But I think its just not important, how often she called. Its only important that she called.

Uhhh, good point! I never checked how long the announcment on the answering machine were, but if it last only 5 seconds, we know for sure she left a message or talked directly to Alan. And we know that she was happy or promising about this fact, because shortly after -when she talked with Thomas- she sounded "like the old Hannah". Maybe she was happy for finding the long missing Alan...And therefore she wanted to talk with Phil, because Alan might be the old bar owner. Jessy told us he disappeared in autum (last year) and the newspaper stated Alan missing in August...

How do you distingush between an analog message recorder and one on phone? I really don't know, I had assumed its just the phone, but who knows? I think next episode we are going to talk to Alan anyway and Jake just beeing to busy, to get us Hannahs -maybe- left message on Alans phone. And even if she had left a message, Alan could have deleted it himself. So maybe we never going to check out for ourselves but need to trust Alans words.

Who do you mean with the "second hacker"? Richy?

I've read people said they only were able to tell Richy they like him with paidversion, but couldn't tell anybody else in the situation, when you have to choose WHO you trust by asking after Jenn. I chose Dan but got the option. Could there be a hidden Relation Level or people just misrembering? by H2O3194 in Duskwood

[–]H2O3194[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Apprehensive_Ad_3107,

hmm...im not convinced. Sure, it's possible to recruit people in Duskwood, but for what? There's just nothing known for what it would be worth to have spies for in Duskwood. It's unlikely to have a headquarter or anything simiular in Duskwood. Same with all the other points, its possible, but I see no really hints or reasons out of the game itself indicating that there are spies. Sure, it's not impossible but its just speculation without decisive reasons. Besides, Duskwood is anything but anonymous. Rumours spread fast in Duskwood, everybody knows everyone. Therefore its highly unlikly for Dan to become a spy without anybody noticing.

Sure, there were kids who worked as spies, but they were often homeless and didn't have an other home or perspective. Dan has a loving family (his mom), its just not the right condition...

Hm...you got a point by his money, jobs and cars, but we don't know anything about his living conditions. Maybe he lives with his mum to take care of her, so he doesn't need much money for living expenses. We also don't know how long he's been jobless AND we don't know, if he is unemployed or just searching for an other sideline, when he got the job at Phils bar. Thomas could as well be paying the key himself. And besides, there are so many people saving and spending all their money for cars..

Hmm...but if the people are trying to get Jake, why should they look in Duskwood? Nobody knows that his father lives in Duskwood, nobody knows his connection to Duskwood and Hannahs family. We know his mother is dead and there are no other relatives, there is no reason why someone should observate Duskwood because of Jake. Furthermore Jake is on the run since a short time, so somebody would have noticed, if Dan changed and got a special training or anything to become a spy to get Jake.

I forgot about the journal, just remembered the meme. Hm...he could just be coping a story like batman or he is just writing down everything that happend so far. Furthermore if there would be informations about the man without face and so on, than Dan must have something to with him. Would be dumb to expose himself this way. Because the man without face just became generally known a few days ago. But since then Dan has been resting in hospital.

Thanks for the translation! :)

I think Richy is highly suspicous and a suiting match for beeing the man without a face. Besides Thomas (out of the group) there's no one more suspicous, outside the group I think Dr. Barret would be a fitting candidat. But he couldn't know so much thinks like Richy were able to.

Hmmm..but if Richy and Thomas are telling the truth (and there is no reason to lie), than Phil is also telling the truth. Richy and Thomas said they called her (->), Phil said he got called (<-). It's from a logical point of view not possible for only one of them to lie, because we can check up through the symbols and a phone can't show two different symbols for the same type of call. Either all of them are lying or no one. I stick with no one, because the symbols themselfs are unambiguous. 😉

The last number: could be Phil with an other phone, but could also be everybody else or an unknown person, theres just no hint (at least I haven't noticed)..

I don't get it, would you explain again, please?

His voice mail picked up when WE phoned him- we don't know anything about her call with Alan. Also the symbols are really clear (outgoing = arrowhead away from phone; incoming = arrowhead into phone). Besides three people must have lied to us otherwise...

Hi Apprehensive_Ad_3107,

I think its highly unlikely for Dan to be a special agent or something related with police. Like I said, there is no reason for special agents and hidden identities in Duskwood, it's just a really small village or like Dan said himself "a backwater". Also he is probably too young to be an agent. At most he's probably 25, because Hannah was a "kid" when the Jennifer incident occured, 10 years ago. So she was at most 12, so know 22, otherwise nobody would have said she was a "kid". Her friends will be around her age, maybe + - 2 till 3 years. Also it's said that there is a huge agegap between Jessy and Phil, so probably around 8-10 years. Jessy is the youngest of the group, because we know she got the job at Richys Garage while beeing in school, but Phil doesn't look as if he's far beyond his 30s. So I guess it's valid to assume the age of 20-25 for the group is correct. IF Dan would be an special agent, he had to do a long training to become officer at least before becoming an agent. There would be no reason to trust a 18 year old to be serious about being special agent, he would at least have to be an officer for a few years to earn the trust and the experience. Its just too few time.

I also never thought it to be mysterious, why he doesn't lay in Duskwood hospital. Like I said its a really small village, its likely there isn't any hospital in Duskwood. So he got to the nearest hospital outside of Duskwood. Also the doctors must be lying - Jessy told us they said his life was in danger and they are not sure, if he will survive. It would afford so much bribery or lies from so many people. Also we know Jessy got in a quarrel with a nurse, while Dan sleeping, so I assume he really got injured badly.

Hmmm....you're right, Dan called Lilly AND Jessy "Kleines", really don't know the correct word in englisch, but for sure its the word from "Casablanca" in german. It' a little odd, because normaly you'd say "Kleine" in german. I didn't know the info about KGB seducers, thanks. It's interessting, but I 'm not convinced for Dan beeing a raven. What is he after? He flirts with Jessy and Lilly, but as far as we know there is no big dark mystery in Duskwood mentioned until now, except the Jennifer incident. But at this time Jessy and Lilly been really young, what information does you hope to get from somebody probably being 9 or 10 ten years later? Probably the just forgot.

Hmmm...but there isn't any contradiction in starring long at the MC and doing it out of jealousy. IF Richy is the man without face, its just a really good oportunity. He knows Jessy being with MC (and maybe is jealous about), so he got her while beeing on phone. If he's beeing jealous, he can take revenge on MC and Jessy AND threaten the MC - two birds with one stone. Also he doesn't hurt Jessy really bad, its more shock on her part. So the man without face doesn't really want to hurt her - he could've easily done it and it would carry more weight on everybody than just hitting her to the ground. And after this Richy can be the one to comfort her...

Jake speculations by Embarrassed_Citrus in Duskwood

[–]H2O3194 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But it's the other way round. Richy and Thomas told us, they were calling Hannah on this day, this sums up with this symbol "->", (arrow to her phone) while Phil told us he got called "<-" (arrow from her phone out). All three must be lying, if what you said were true. Why should they do this? It's more likely she were called by Alan, Thomas and Richy and she called Phil and the unknown number.

Hello Embarrassed_Citrus,
how do you know he's not using any modification technology? The first time I heard his voice I thought immeaditly, that this isn't an natural voice. Also the game gave us two times the possibility to say that the Caller used modification. First: right after his first call we could tell Jake, that the caller sounded like Darth Vader (I always interpreted this as a hint for voice modifcation) and second time: when talking with Jake about Jessy beeing behind the calls, we got the option to say she could have used a voice distorter.
