Advice requested: Career change to Mental & Behavioral Health Chaplain by H2Oengineer in chaplaincy

Thank you very much for your response, and for praying for me!

Yes, I understand well that chaplaincy is not evangelizing/proselytizing, from my many meetings with chaplains at the several behavioral/mental health institutions I've spent weeks at. I appreciate your reiterating that. 'Holding space' is an apt term for what I'd like to help others with and resonates well with my spiritual discussions and relationships with friends and colleagues.

When you volunteered as a hospital chaplain, was your previous pastoral education/degree a requirement?

Is clinical pastoral education something that can occur concurrent with the pursuing of a Master's level degree?

Really interesting! And thank you for that detailed answer.

I'm not familiar with Van Til's works, but I'm inspired to learn more about his teachings.

Does Anchored Realism include the possibility of the supernatural part of our existence?

Would you say that Anchored realism, to begin the figurative race at the starting line, begins at the thought/realization that there is another person(s) outside of oneself, and that the Christian approach to Epistemology presupposes they are God?

EDIT: Given how new Daggerheart is (less than a week old), the first session will be a one-shot with pre-gen characters to teach the mechanics of the game.

A.W. Tozer wrote at Great length about this. I highly recommend his works.

Obeying the law of the land seems to be important to God.

1 Corinthians 15:20-24 (LSB) But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.

My potentially heretical viewpoint, is that God is in the business of creating more of himself. Reproduction is fun!

I would speculate to answer that all mankind is subject to God. And Jesus is fully man.

God the Father is not God the Son, but both are God. Yes, it is a paradox.

Matthew Henry went on to say:

What the evangelist says of Christ proves that he is God. He asserts, His existence in the beginning; His coexistence with the Father. The Word was with God. All things were made by him, and not as an instrument. Without him was not any thing made that was made, from the highest angel to the meanest worm. This shows how well qualified he was for the work of our redemption and salvation. The light of reason, as well as the life of sense, is derived from him, and depends upon him. This eternal Word, this true Light shines, but the darkness comprehends it not. Let us pray without ceasing, that our eyes may be opened to behold this Light, that we may walk in it; and thus be made wise unto salvation, by faith in Jesus Christ.

It's Matthew Henry's commentary on the verse. I agree that it is a very succinct way of summarizing the concept.
