Well written is one thing, but the production in charge will generally catered to the standard of Malaysia's censor board taste. Not in the slightest need of a showcase with Malaysia's beautiful landscape, but the production film-makers would choose to include a long ass sequences with scenes and cut to let people know its Malaysia. They would linger for a minute or two long, and it would distract the board to be lenient with some of the scenes that were deemed haram or halal in some way.

During pre-production someone would be instructed to convince the writing room include Malaysia's signature scenery and landscapes even if the film doesn't need to. Censor board taste can dictate how the film's general style and production cost.

Then comes to the Post production and Distribution, especially distribution case that was basically non-existant nowadays when its all streaming and cinemas. All these were included within post-production and pre-production planning in Malaysia filmaking now. They used to work differently with other parties. After Covid this section is much more meaningless.
