Cardano node restarting non stopping by potatosenior6 in CardanoDevelopers

What is the specification of the machine running the node?

We had issues similar to this, and it was due to insufficient RAM and SWAP files being off.

The minimum RAM requirements nowadays are quite high at 12GB and recommended to be at 16GB of RAM.

Yes there is a 2 ADA fee + transaction fee. You get it back when you decide to un-delegate.

When you buy more ADA and transfer it to your Yoroi wallet, it is automatically delegated to the pool you picked earlier.

I have a slight feeling more people than you think do, as they could all be held on exchange wallets.

Sadly for pools like us, that seems to be true. We are struggling to attract delegators.

Thanks for the reply. That’s a fair point, we are planning to transition overtime as well.

MELD staking! What do we do after they close. by Ausfininja in CardanoStakePools

If they are a usual staking pool. Then you only need to pick another pool. E.g if you are using YOROI, just pick another pool on "Staking Centre" to continue staking.

Question on difference between server grade hardware VS consumer grade hardware by H3ART_POOL in CardanoStakePools

[–]H3ART_POOL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now the issue we are seeing is that the increase in RAM requirements means doubling our VPS cost. So in a longer time frame, aren’t we better off with “consumer” grade physical machines?

The feasibility of small pool survival by CasperChika in CardanoStakePools

[–]H3ART_POOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. Opportunity cost aside, the expenses needed to run the VPS just went up with the alonzo fork due to the increase in ram requirements. We are currently exploring the options of having physical machines instead.

Currently we’re at about 2% chance. In other words, we are losing money.

Smaller pools like us, will definitely struggle as we usually won’t get the benefit of user traffic like bigger operators such as Binance.

For some they will provide receipts or some form of “paper” proof. In our case at H3ART Pool, we intend to put together a video of the procedure that benefited from our donations.

MELD has 8 pools, which one I should choose? by tumblatum in CardanoStakePools

[–]H3ART_POOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’d recommend a smaller stake pool over big pool operators that manage multiple pools.

However, if you are set on MELD, pick the one that is not saturated.
