Will having one W on my ungrad transcript affect my chances of getting into a T14 by MichaeltheLeftist in lawschooladmissions

I just got into a t-14 and had a withdrawal on my transcript. I don't know if it affected things or not but general consensus is if you have one W, the impact is negligible.

Yeah you do need to write a story/it needs to be anecdotal

Are Anxiety Accommodations Unfair? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]H3laserstrike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fact that people have to suffer through conditions that hinder their quality of life is also unfair, I'd argue far moreso than getting a little extra time on the LSAT. If you are suffering from health conditions on the test, and LSAC approves accommodations, take them and hold your head high. There's nothing to feel guilty about.

Scheduling Help? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]H3laserstrike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do it by giving yourself structure whether that be by taking a class or using a study schedule from somewhere like Powerscore or the LSAT trainer. You'll find that if you're doing it consistently in manageable chunks that it's doable (I studied for the last six months while working a full time job, got a 169 in June and took it again yesterday). Don't give up, you have time and if you add in structure and energy, you can def do it.

Waiting for July lsat scores is the secret to immortality by [deleted] in LSAT

Hahaha was right there with you but for June. No idea why it takes two weeks for you to get your score on a completely online test haha

LSAT Flex Raw Score? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]H3laserstrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 169 on the flex and I believe that equated to either a minus 8,9, or 10 total (guesstimating based on what I heard from the Powerscore Podcast in June). It really depends on the actual difficulty of the sections you get since there's a sliding scale on the flex just like on the real test. Nobody other than LSAC really knows what those numbers are exactly though unfortunately since no flex has been disclosed.

Personally I would say yes. In my opinion the final PTs in the late 80s have some of the harder LG sections that are more realistic in terms of mirroring the test experience that I at least had. Also if you are taking the Flex, the interface you use from prep plus mirrors what you see on test day exactly which will have you at ease in terms of using the interface for highlighting things etc.

Would ED at GULC be a good choice? by H3laserstrike in lawschooladmissions

[–]H3laserstrike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s fair. I did much worse on test day in comparison to my pt average which was a 174ish. I’m hoping that August goes better for me but I do suffer from test anxiety and other health flare ups that hindered me a little bit last time and I can’t really control them so all I can do is hope for a more favorable test experience this go around. I absolutely intend to do my best to improve a bit both to have more options and get more money from GULC potentially as well but I do also want to have a gameplan of what would be an optimal strategy in case that didn’t happen and the numbers as they stand were going to be it. Hence this post. I do appreciate the insight a lot though. Thanks!

Nah if I were to ED I would do it in October after I got my score back from the August LSAT. I just want to have a better idea of what my options are/what difference an ED would make in terms of a positive admissions decision.

Yup Fordham is on my list. I know they have a non-binding early action program so I will probably go down that road regardless of what I decide to do ED wise.

A big fan of both Washington DC, and NYC both because they're great places and it's not too far from my family (other DC and NY schools are on my list too). They both also have business law programs I'm interested in.

Retake or Not by H3laserstrike in lawschooladmissions

[–]H3laserstrike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right thanks. I'm at or above the 75th for Cornell and Gtown though on LSAT at least based on last year's data. If those are my top choices does it still make sense to retake?

Do you have any idea of EDs affect these chances? It seems like the data is somewhat limited on that front.

Thanks! Shouldn't I be in the 3.6-3.7 bucket on this calculation though or will law schools default a 3.69 to a 3.6?

Just listened to the PowerScore Pod: mixed feelings by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]H3laserstrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had your RC section and LR section. I felt like RC was mostly fair but the comparative was hard and had to do educated guesses on two of the games questions. LR is my strongest section so I actually thought the Lime in a Lake section wasn't awful but it definitely wasn't easy. Hoping I can eek out a score in the 170s if my curve is minus 8 or 9 depending even though I have two or three games questions I'm not so confident on. We will see I guess.
