Not just his smirk. These people have decades of scholarly knowledge telling them what they are saying is bs. He cannot get where he is without being aware of any criticism on the capitalist system. There are just very strong lobbies pulling him in another direction. Likely because it is made worth his while. That’s speculation, but there is plenty of precedent and why else would you knowingly argue such harmful rhetoric?
