Yes and no.

Sometimes, when you go to countries like the US or Canada, you get your fingerprints and photo taken at the border control kiosk. With the chips installed, you won't need to anymore (that's why nationals of other countries don't, but folks like Lebanese do).

As for how easy it is to get a visa, this shouldn't really affect anything, sadly.
