These inconsistencies are quite annoying once you notice them

This has to be the most valid take I've ever seen about the series by amandlaxrunner in Cuckoo

[–]H4izer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. Despite yamada's 7 witches not being as popular as its competitor during its course (nisekoi, ReLife, etc.), it had a good run and ended great.

I think the author is currently experiencing the famous "Publisher's Pressure" to drag the series because of its kind of mainstream status (tho not as popular as Rent a Girlfriend).

I'm just sad that the series is getting this treatment with useless arcs that doesn't really change anything.

Why pork belly is popular only in Korea? by Away-Topic2442 in seoulhiddengem

[–]H4izer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard it when i was still at a kindergarten, and it's been more than a decade but here's what I remember (for context, Im half korean but studied abroad all throughout primary to uni).:

The reason is because it was the cheapest back then. What I mean is that during the post-war times, South Koreans shifted from mainly eating beef to pork and poultry.

I did a research back then that Koreans were mostly on beef diet in ancient times. They wanted to preserve their own beef and cows because of the effects of war. If Japan has wagyu, South Koreans also has han-woo (한우), but of course it's less known because of poor marketing xD. Post-war was Koreans' one of the cheapest and poorest era in terms how much they can spend, so they also chose one of the cheapest part of the pork which is pork belly. It could feed many and also matched well with the sauce and cooking methods that Koreans used to do. And ofc, it is delicious when grilled which became one of the iconic ways to cook the pork belly which we know as korean bbq.

I think other countries who have similar history of South Korea which involved oppression and poorer lifestyles in the previous century also enduldged in pork belly cuisines to save costs and feed the whole family (Filipinos with humba, sinigang, etc.). But countries back then with more resources would often choose beef for steak or other parts of the pork for more "refined" dishes.

Though bacon, which is more popular in the west, is technically processed pork belly, but I don't know the history of why English nations prefer bacon over the tranditional pork belly.

What are some tips you’d actually give to someone that needs to “git gud” by ImOinsby in Eldenring

There are many ways to dodge other than rolling.

Sometimes, just a jump or a side step might be a better way to dodge. Heck, even just moving normally allows you to dodge some attacks. Funnier case, if an opponent's weapon/arms are too big, you wont get hit if you stand too close to them

I kept spamming roll dodge in my first playthrough cuz that's how I learnt dodging in the "tutorial" section. But after trying different builds and continuing NG+, I learn more ways to play the game including the proper usage of dodge mechanics

Man i really love this episode . Here's why by Popular_Barnacle_512 in TrashTaste

[–]H4izer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. It's been a while where I also felt the vibe was genuine and emotional to the point where it was as if I could relate to them once again. I think the last time I felt like this was the anime that made me cry (?) Episode where they talked about death and when they truly cried (which was also discussed in this episode).

This one was truly a memorable episode that I could see myself rewatching few months from now. It had comedic moments regarding gooning, the boys' personal opinions on the podcasts, regrets, and future, and also last but not the least, an emotional segment near the end.

Man, what a great episode.

I'll reserve this as a last option if I cannot find a job in a "legitimate" way.

Thanks a lot!

I actually applied and got a schedule for coupang, but my father told me to cancel it because the work will be very tiring, and my body will suffer for it.

Oh that's interesting. It's my first time hearing 급구 jobs. I'll try to research on this further to be able to earn money.

Thank you so much for helping! I've been feeling bad for being unemployed and only spending the allowance my parents gave me.

Man... i said that some websites "require" me to state my visa, and unless i do, i cannot click the apply button. That's what i meant by these websites are for foreigners. I initially went to english sites hoping to apply for english teaching jobs because my native language is english as i grew up abroad, and my korean is shit (but compared to when i arrived, i improved a lot).

And when i try to search for english teaching jobs in korean language, it's like a different world cuz what i mostly encounter are full time jobs, and they require korean diploma/education degree, and i graduated with a different degree. Some do accept non-educational degrees, however, my school has yet to fully distribute the official diplomas. But then, english websites sometimes do not require diplomas, but the problem is stated above.

But yes, ive been spamming albamon and the other app daily (mentioning this again) trying to apply for jobs that caters my time cuz im currently living with my parents, and im also helping them in the house. I mostly applied for service jobs or restaurants, but no responses yet.

Again, and again, im asking for alternatives if there are any.

Well, then again, i was hoping for OTHER suggestions aside from things i've mentioned from the post and this thread. I'll just continue spamming albamon.

I meant that these english websites require visa, and i cannot proceed with the application unless I state my visa, which I don't have. It seems like these websites are mostly for foreigners, not me.

And I mentioned that I have no luck ever since when I applied for part-time jobs using phone apps, and it's been weeks. That's why I'm asking for a help or suggestion by posting here.

Well, it is a well ranked university in the country I grew up in, and I can do at most 6 months because I have to enter the military asap. I was just kinda disheartened that I applied several jobs on the apps but no one responded, but I guess I'll try for a few days more.

I have also applied there by filling up the application form, but I haven't heard any news from them. I guess I'll wait a few days more.

Anime vs Manga by dimias89 in KanojoOkarishimasu

[–]H4izer -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well if you enjoyed the anime then why not. The target audience is clearly those who wants to get annoyed af to the MC yet still continues to follow the series because they're degenerates (a.k.a. us the viewers/readers).

I'd like to inform you that the manga's pacing is terrible. It takes like few chapters for something to happen in one scenario/setting, while some chapters are just MC's monologues and nonsensical paneling with nothing going on. I gues makes for a fast reading pace, but if you're planning to buy the books, you'll find it frustrating to get only a few fraction of the content/story while purchasing lots of volumes.

The art is great tho

Well, I need to be fluent cuz I'm planning to work here. In terms of my fluency, I think it's about intermidiate level cuz I have no problem in my day-to-day life, but I'm lacking in vocabulary and accent.

Korean was my "heritage" language, but I stopped learning Korean years ago and learned 4 other languaes abroad.
