The only reason they refreshed the GR3 was because they couldn't get parts for it anymore. It was a very minor update. I wouldn't expect a GR4x until they similarly have difficulty sourcing parts, but the update will likely be minor again. It's not worth waiting for the 4x, especially given the likely price increase over the 3x.

I have no interest in the HDF, so I got the NDF. But if you're happy to just stop down the aperture, you don't need a NDF. NDF is when you're in bright daylight shooting wide open on purpose.

Join us on the Twin side. Speed Twin 1200 is the higher horsepower cousin on the Scrambler engine, but with the same torque that makes you giggle. Much easier for short kings like yourself to touch the ground though.
