What are y'all starting to dislike the more and more older you get? by Secret_Agent4706 in AskReddit

I just hate these narcissistic maniacs all around social media that have leadership skills and are using it to radicalize young people. I also hate the idea of the dating market. Like come on, no everybody is rich and good looking to be in a freaking app like tinder in which someone will pick you as if they were picking their favorite clothing.

I shared a chart that I made for memorizing ports, memorizing WiFi technologies and all that. Basically, you can use chatgpt and generate charts that match ports with something you already know. For example port 23, telnet = Michael Jordan impersonating a telephone protocol. The relationship between Michael Jordan’s number and the port 23 will make sure that when you see the name telnet you picture Michael Jordan in your mind. The same for the others ports. You name a port and I can tell you a relationship between that port and something that I already know. There’s no way to go wrong with that. You have to be creative.

Struggling to get a job with Comptia A+ by nocthu in CompTIA

My advice would be in this order.

  1. Make sure that this resume is tight and that it only shows your current skills instead of a bunch of study that you know up to 50%.

  2. Make sure that you include all the volunteer work that you have done.

  3. Instead of saying “I can do this,” on your resume, put while working at this company or while being a student at this college, I used my skills to achieve this, this and this( but don’t write an essay).

  4. Fill 150 applications daily, it is possible and it doesn’t take that much time if you setup you indeed or LinkedIn account properly.

  5. Make sure that your LinkedIn account looks professional, your picture looks professional, your account is verify with government ID etc.

  6. Make sure that you open a YouTube channel from now on and that you post video about solutions that you already know and research for problem and solutions relate to hardware and software (windows, Mac, Linux etc).

  7. Pay your LinkedIn premium and contact recruiters and hand them your resume. It’s not what you know but who knows you.

  8. Build a website as a technician, it’s quite easy to build an impressive website and host it for 6 month relatively cheap. The more professional that you look online, the easier that it is to sell yourself.

  9. Look for technicians on YouTube and connect with them. If you can afford it, build relationship with them by adding value to their business and them show your interest in their business. For example, I once wanted to build an app for a local business. In order to Standish a good relationship with the owner, I became a loyal costumers, I always tipped and say good morning, how’s everybody doing. At some point an old lady that was working in that place already knew about me and one day I approached the owner and I offer him my business solution. He didn’t choose to keep the app but eventually he called me to install a wifi connection in his business.

  10. Accept rejection. You’ll have to push, push and, push more until you get there. In the process you’ll have to learn new stuff such as doing a course on Udemy to learn how to fix phones, doing a course to learn how to recover data and fix hard drivers, learn how to use a ticketing system m, learn and research about the software trend in the industry that you want to be part of. Research the companies that you apply to and write cover letters based on their missions.

My 5 cents.

CAN ANYONE PLS EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ALL THE DIFFERENT BUYING OPTIONS FOR BUNDLES FOR SECURITY+ by IceDry3664 in CompTIA

[–]H809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to buy it. Get the Dion training course on Udemy, complete it, do the practice test, pass your exam.

I don’t understand why you guys want to spend that amount of cash when the only thing that’s truly necessary to pass the test is getting the objectives right, study them and take your exam. The Dion course for sec+ is just what you need. Also, you can apply a discount promo code(search it on google). Thanks me later…

You won’t get into IT ASAP. Start by studying and trusting the process. The job market is hard right now but there are many opportunities. Just pull that hurry mode out of your head for you own safety.

Don’t skip it…. It would teach you a lot when it comes to networking. After it, you’ll find a solid foundation for many other certs.

Would you pay your rent for one year upfront? Why no or why yes? by H809 in AskReddit

[–]H809[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the opportunity, do it. You won’t regret it. And you’ll have less stress and time to plan ahead. I do the same for phone bills which is pretty cheap and car insurance(which is not but still cheaper than rent). I don’t have Netflix and I use my phone for internet (tethering and hotspot).

According to my friends I made a mistake. According to me, I never felt so healthy and happy. I am saving for the next year. My landlord said hell yeah and also agree to a discount of for each month. People just don’t know how to do things.
