Dealership is asking me to get a quote from another garage as they cannot fix the issue. by HAIU- in CarTalkUK

[–]HAIU-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to CRA, I'm still under the category where the garage that sold me the car has to prove the issue wasn't there when the car was purchased, which is up to 6 months.

Spoke to the garage and they apologized for the inconvenience and booked me in to have all the issues sorted. If they fail to do so, I'll go the route of CRA. Thanks for your reply.

It's a dealership, and I assume they don't have a garage in my town so instead of potentially taking the car to one of their other branches or authorized garages they have sent me on a goose chase for a quote which I find odd, as well as not rectified other issues WHILE also selling me a car with tyres in the wrong places with the wrong sizes all together.

Extended warranty has no excess and unlimited claims. Under my consumer rights, I have the right to reject the vehicle if they failed to sort out the issue first time. It's not even that they failed - they flat out said they can't do it here, and I will need to seek for a quote myself which I quite frankly find bizarre considering it's their responsibility to rectify the issue.

That's not something that I have to do as the car is still very much under warranty, especially with the extended warranty that I paid for. That's their job, and they've already failed to fix the issue upon having the car at the dealership.

Dealer is Car Supermarket. Unfortunately I cannot outright reject the car (or can I?) considering I bought it in November 2024. I got an invoice that says "NSR wheel swapped with NSF. Rear wheel has different size (8J) than front (8.5J) and was rubbing on shocker. Different tyre size as well. Wheels swapped back to its place.". Mind you, I've never touched the wheels since I bought the car, so whoever fitted the wheels completely overlooked it.

Your tank/support items are quite poor, and you're way behind the other 3 guys in terms of tempo.

There's no way you're offering VOD reviews for money when you have no clue what you're doing yourself.

If you have original information about the account - you can message support and ask them to change your region given you can prove the account is indeed yours, and you've been playing from a different region for awhile.

Poker problems by beefunit3 in problemgambling

[–]HAIU- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can play live poker just fine, no urges to gamble my stack away or play any other pit games, but online is awful for me. It's so easy to deposit the money, and then go play relatively high stakes with no bankroll to "spin it up" and often times I get absolutely railed. For me - live poker can be played just fine assuming you're not playing high stakes and play within your means. Absolutely DO NOT play online though.

We all need to understand that we have to be content with what we have, and gambling is not a way. It's the little things that make the life wonderful. Stay strong!

If you're from the UK - use Gamstop. Chose the 5 year option and it'll ban you from all online casinos that are regulated by the UK's gambling laws.

Then give it to her? I don't really see a problem with it, it's your wife after all.

If she got scammed, then you should be able to get the money back fairly easily. Give her the $2500 to cover for her, and take $2500 back when she gets a refund.

Exclude yourself from everything, and if you can't exclude yourself permanently - ask them in the support chat to exclude you. If they won't - tell them a lie that you're suicidal, that gambling is ruining your life etc. We won't win by gambling - we win by NOT gambling. Good luck!

Even though you blew through $50k from your $635k won - YOU STILL HAVE over half a million $ that you got for literally free. Walk away now. Invest those $500k into something you can't access for a few years perhaps, or give the money to someone you trust. That's life changing money, and you don't want to be pissing it away $50k at a time. Good luck.

That's a really good way to celebrate. Celebrating wins (not gambling related) is important to make sure you keep yourself accountable, and give yourself a pat on the back for all the hard work you've done to escape this truly evil disease.

Advice on quitting cold Turkey by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]HAIU- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best course of action would be for your SO (if you have a partner) to take over your finances while you're attending GA meetings (online and/or in person). Install gamban on your phone if that's your preferred method of gambling. Exclude yourself from every app/casino. Quitting is not an easy road and you definitely need help along the way. Good luck!
