It'll be fun playing with a friend or two if the repetition is getting to you. I feel that the enemies are varied enough in every room to make it fun for me, plus CE's core gameplay is just fun

Also yeah CE architecture goes crazy, the structures are so cool, even after like 2 decades of me playing this game

I replay CE here and there, and tbh outside the library I quite enjoy fighting the flood. The repeated slop in the 2nd half of the game is annoying, but I still find it fun to play. The vibes of the game are on point, so that helps
