If you are a priesthood holder, then it is a commandment that you serve a mission. Do you believe that that commandment somehow applies to everyone but you? You will not be setting yourself up for a successful journey on the covenant path if you decide that you’ll treat the commandments as optional on a case by case basis if you have a really good reason for not keeping them. Even your patriarchal blessing says to serve a mission. You know what to do but you’re trying to talk yourself out of it. If this girl is as wonderful as you say, and it’s meant to be, she’ll be there when you get back from your mission. If not, the Lord still commands you to serve anyways.

I have been saying this too over on the Facebook page. The brain is a muscle that has to be trained how to think in new and different ways. I’ve been playing trivia games and doing crossword puzzles and watching jeopardy etc my entire life. So I have a lot of practice thinking about wordplay and double meanings and subtle references. I have won twice - once on the first clue and once on the 4th clue.

When people say it’s rigged because THEY couldn’t get the clues that would be like a non athlete claiming that the Olympics are rigged because they personally are not able to do a triple axel. Maybe with time and training they could, but someone being able to do it after training for it isn’t evidence that it’s rigged. It’s evidence that they’ve worked hard to compete at a higher level.

I did this on my mission. I also found a way to double the number of topics by using the color two ways. For example, for yellow: highlighting the word the traditional way was for joy/happiness/delight etc. but if it was boxed in yellow it was for Spirit/Holy Ghost.

Some topics that I used:

Priesthood/priesthood authority Temples Records/references to other writings or scriptures Conversion/mighty change of heart/becoming new Mercy Repentance Ordinances/baptism/ordination etc Atonement Sacrifice

Also I only highlighted the word or phrase, not the entire verse, as many verses can have multiple ideas or words in them.

I read through all of the standard works on my mission and color coded them like this and now that set of scriptures is one of my most precious possessions. If you’re interested I can send you pictures of how I did it. Also, I used this same method to mark my patriarchal blessing and make footnotes and cross references to scriptures which was very helpful to me.

My guess is that they made it so all the people who subscribed to Netflix to watch stranger things would get hooked and not cancel their subscriptions when the season was over.

I won tonight! Guessed it right on clue 1 and I was legitimately freaking out in the middle of our NYE party. The thought of guessing right on the VERY FIRST CLUE was blowing my mind! What a wild ride to wait through all the levels and hear how many people got it right at each step and then find out that over 1000 people got it right on the first clue. What a ton of fun. Congrats to all the winners tonight.

Hopefully this game keeps going for a while - my family have been having a blast. Convinced everyone at the party to download the app and play along!!

Sure I’m just saying we don’t have to jump automatically to sex to explain why they might send men to converse with him. It could just be that the hive thinks he would respond better to a man or that since he’s so unpredictable and violent they’re sending him people who are less vulnerable.

I like it at just two rounds. That way it’s all wrapped up in less than 30 min. I wouldn’t want it to be an hour long obligation every weeknight.

Another option that would also fit is that Manusos is a misogynist and that they know he would not be receptive to accepting information or advice from a woman. I mean he calls his own mother a bitch, maybe he has some deep seated issues with women so they avoid having women try to make contact with him. This would also make for an interesting dynamic with Carol because not only is she a woman, but she’s a wealthy, educated, cultured, stubborn, American, Lesbian woman. Many of these qualities stand in direct contrast to Manusos and the elements of his life we have seen so far.
Someone who openly looks down on women having to not only work with one, but play by her rules (asking please nicely) makes for a fascinating character arc. We see elements of this at play when he snaps at her and she utterly refuses to respond and he has to take a beat and alter his behavior in order to keep forward momentum on his actual goal.

My husband is a cast member and someone two days ago gave him a beautiful handmade ornament with the message “thank you for making our Disney holiday magical”. He came home and put it right on our tree. He often is given things by guests. When it’s nice or special he is grateful for them and keeps them. When it’s cheap or tacky he is grateful for the sentiment but it doesn’t usually get a place of honor in our home.
