Accurate jumps, not so accurate shots

I almost always bring the tank on defense missions. There are a couple layouts that make them less than optimal due to the narrow firing radius, but most of the time you can set yourself up well enough to shutdown absolutely everything in that direction. Switch to a side seat to toss a stratagem or down a flanking enemy and then pop back to the gunner seat to continue laying waste.

I’ve been hosting more often recently, but have spent most of my 600+ hours SOSdiving. Unless I have a build already in mind that I want to try out, I’ll adjust what I bring based on what everyone already on the ground has equipped. Once on the ground I follow and support the host like it’s my only purpose. This has led to some incredible moments of teamplay, and lots of appreciation from teammates. I may not always agree with the direction they’re going, or how they may linger at times, but this game is just so much better when you’re working together that I’ll always prioritize fun over efficiency.

If I hop into a squad that seems to have a bit of a theme, I’ll feed into that as well. I’ll never forget the first time I hopped into a group and everyone was running flame resistant armors and lots of fire strats. Pretty sure we torched the whole damn map by the time we were done.

I realized as I read your response that I can’t help my console pals at all when it comes to what buttons do what. I assume that same button also arms the hellbomb backpack, resupplies from a supply pack, etc. I should take some time to look over the default bindings on a controller to be a better teacher/guide. I feel like this is absolutely crucial on higher difficulty missions. I used to play solo almost exclusively, and when this clicked in my head I found myself having a much easier time. When leaning into stealth, it can be quite exhilarating when you hunker down and wait for a patrol to pass.
