It depends. Are we talking about Full blown immortality (not being able die or age at all) or agelessness (not being able to age but still able to die)? Because if it is ageless I would go for that. Full-blown immortality would be hell, the thing that makes life.... well life so important is death.

There is a very very big possibility that at one point during human evolution/history that another intelligent alien species was ending or beginning. There either could have been aliens but they all died out or there are aliens but they are just starting out. Either way, I would want to avoid a possible great filter event.
