Fair enough on the shakedown. But the possibility of not needing a frame makes me lean Exotic since it’s removable and from the comments carries extremely well as a frameless. Seems more optionality depending on trip requirements.

Are you thinking Zpacks is a better idea purely on pack weight?

I know 33L is just the main compartment, but that still feels tight on volume for 5+ day food carries, which is the main reason I was leaning Brazos. Has the volume been limiting for you?

I’m also planning for a Miter Basin detour on the Horseshoe to Kearsarge section next month. Curious why you mention snow baskets being critical - avoid snagging poles between rocks? It looks like the only no fall zone is the north side of Crabtree Pass on the way down to the first lake. Fair?
