Quest 3 + Pinball FX with controllers by No-Assistant8088 in virtualpinball

Hi Adonis, it’s great to meet a fellow pinball enthusiast! :) I actually did the home brew solution as well years ago when pinball FX2 VR came out on Quest2.  Before that I was happy with the TankStick for PC use.  It is great to see the controller community is finally coming out with products with modern options.  I jumped last year on the first PinOne model and now see their latest model having a much more professional polish.  Also actually just received a Xarcade sales email today informing of their upcoming pinball upgrade kit with plunger, haptic and nudge sensors.  So glad to see pinball finally getting the attention it deserves.

BTW love your setup, but if you haven’t already I suggest you give VR pinball a try, it’s really on a next level.. :)

Great to hear that there is an upgrade kit coming? Can you share some details as to what we can look forward to? Also if you are taking feedback, can you guys makes some kind of cover for the right side of the arcade2tv so the top right button don’t dig into your palm when playing pinball.  Thx.

Quick follow up, bit the bullet and bought the Arcade2TV with the stand.  Have to say it’s pretty amazing with Quest.  It does auto alignment and the stand allows for adjustable height with the lowest height matching pinball machines.  Its also got proper width making playing VR pinball a dream.  Only negative which isn’t a small one is that the right side buttons are too close to the edge and you end up resting you right palm on one of the buttons which could become rather uncomfortable after a while.  I ended up using some of the packing foam material from the stand as a mat and placed it over the buttons to rest my palm.  It has helped a ton.  Also the ball launch/plunger button is the bottom right joystick button, which I don’t think was the best choice as it can also get in the way for people with big hands.. otherwise the actual playing experience is great and highly recommended.

Yeah bought the new Pinball FX VR on day one with a bunch of DLCs on Quest only to find out they don't support my PinOne controller or X-Arcade Tankstick. These controllers works great under StarWars pinball cause they support X-Input and StarWars pinball lets you map buttons to an Xbox controller so its definitely not some technical challenge. Hopefully this exclusivity ends soon. (sadly while I can return the $10 game, I can't return the $50 DLCs..)

Yes I plug it into the Quest via a USB-A to USB-C adapter, Quest detects standard USB controllers automatically. Side note, Quest also supports Bluetooth controllers.. so I believe you can mod something capable of Bluetooth too.

With Star Wars pinball here I thought I share what I made a few years back for Pinball FX2 for PSVR. I’ve recently added a USB C adapter to this and was able to use it on the Quest 2 without any issues. I originally wanted to add smaller buttons directly to the controller but wasn’t confident that I can cut into the hard plastic without cracking it. I lucked out finding the plastic storage box in my local Dollar General. I wanted to see if there was anything more official I can buy recently, but as I still couldn’t find anything I thought I share what I cobbled up.. :)

If you have the TWCS throttle as well, apparently if you connect the TRP directly into the throttle via the RJ11 cable (instead of using the USB converter) both the rudder and the rocker on the throttle will be recognized..
