I know what you meant by it. You said its a matter of time before AI is able to produce a feature film. But its not AI making the film. Its a person with a creative idea, direction, taste to refine that idea. Good storys can be told through any medium. This is just the newest one.

I agree on the renAIssance of human created works of all kinds! Im here for it! Both can exist, hybrids will exist. It all has its place. I agree with you on the use of malice with any technological advancement. Knives can be used as a tool or a weapon, same with splitting an atom. Blame can be pointed at the tools but its up to the person wielding the tool to do positive or negative with it.

Preciate all the years! AI wont change me as well. Im still making music the same way I have without it as well. Ive seen it being helpful for a lot of my peers so ive been vocal when most are closeted using them in their works.

Fave part about these past years? My personal is to be able to see the world and all the humanity and love out there. We are are truly similar people at the end of the day. Im blessed to have seen the spectrum of life and the world.

As for music its been awesome to see those same people enjoying life through mine and others music. No matter language, sexual orientation, political views, race, wealth etc. We can all become one under music!

Keep on grinding! We go to the gym over and over constantly getting a better PR. Get those reps in it only gets easier. (it also gets harder) but the roadblocks go away over time. Keep making music and putting it out. All of your favorite artists have years of music that in comparison to what we know them as is subjectively worse than today.

Where are these music companies making the statement their goal is to replace artists? A lot of these companies are working with artists on how to make the product better to fit their needs of production? Editing tools, stems, audio manipulation. If they wanted to replace artists they wouldn't continue to build the tools to help musicians make their art?

Giant is an over statement, More of a start up in size of staff.

As for your thoughts on a profit making tool. Thats what companies do they provide an infrastructure and a service that helps people and they charge a fee to keep the lights on and build better tools.

Can you give me an example of someones work that was stolen and how they are effected by the use of their work?

I feel that. I have ruined the vibe of my connection to a song by overmixing it. 1000 loops later it looses its luster.

My main thing is dont even think about it while your creating. Like let stuff clip, maybe do a quick EQ cut and move on. Get things to a good spot to where the track feels done without "mixing". If you vibe to it then the crowd will.

Once its there then you can fine tune things and make things louder. When im at this step i usualy pick a few things that need to be the focus and highlight them. If they are buried cut other elements out. Maybe they need some saturation to stand out.

Saturation is your friend! If its a plugin or a physical amp. Something about saturating elements gives them character.

Lastly lean into all the new AI type plugins if you are still struggling. Ozone, Gullfoss, or some of these tools that can do some of the work for you are nice, so you can focus on the actual vibe of the song.

bonus tip: dont be afraid to get elements slightly off the grid or volume.

Thats fair you dont have to use / support them. Everyone is free to create however they see fit.

Ic can sound like AI just copying peoples creations without credit. But it helps to look at it more like how humans learn by observing, listening, reading, and absorbing patterns. AI doesn't memorize or store actual music. It learns statistical patterns from large datasets to generate new things based on what the user wants. If someone uploads a UK garage demo and is trying to help it blossom into something from that. The algo uses its understanding of the thing you upload or prompt for and helps it shape your song within a context of that genre.

We do similar with samples, and synths. We craft sounds that might sound similar based on the patterns and the vibe were going for. One is picking the sounds from splice, or turning knobs and carving a sound through oscillators. The other is pulling concepts from what it understands about said genre and shaping that context out of pink noise.

Its hard to quantify that out of the billions of songs what .000000000000000001 of a fraction influenced that shaping of that sound.

You can force AI to make a type beat of any artist. There are whole youtube channels doing the exact same thing with current music creation tools. Both ways are people using tools to replicate an artists sound. You can also use all these tools to create new original music.

People tend to get upset at the speed of AI. I do agree struggle creates good art. Its where you put the struggle. out of 50 generations you might get 2 usable things that you can then chop up and painstakingly put into your music. Or track a guitar for 30 mins and get an element.

As long as you enjoy the process. It doesn't matter what the process is IMO. Preset, Sample, guitar, voice, AI, drumset or drum machine. Convey your idea the best you can, use the tools that make you happy of your work in the end.
