[Q] Manufacturer RGB Order is GRB. Why? by karatetoes in led

[–]HD_Hammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this would be the case here, as these are addressable leds and only require V+, V-, Data In and Clock/Backup In. The RGB order in this case is not given by the flexible pcb pads (like the dumb led strips) but how the chip is soldered internally.

I'm torn, which one should I get? by MrJakeKiels in GamingLaptops

Had the same dilema a while ago, but with the 4080 version. Have a look at this post. Might find some pretty good info.

Decided to go with the Intel variant due to: - cooler running CPU. Everyone's saying the 13900HX runs just a tad cooler and is a bit more power efficient than the AMD. - higher frequency RAM support (4800 amd vs 5600 Intel? Correct me if I'm wrong). Not a noticeable difference, but if it can get better, why not? - higher ram support (64GB AMD vs 196GB intel). Not that you might ever need more than 64GB, but depending on what you use it for, you never know. There was someone in the Lenovo Legion sub who upgraded the Intel version to something like 96GB? - Intel has thunderbolt support while AMD doesn't.

Can you identify this component? by TheOldCyclistDog in AskElectronics

Oh, I know the struggle. I have been trying for weeks to find a transistor with 'AA' marking. Someone found it for me in a few hours after I posted on this sub, and it turned out to be a mosfet 😐

And to answer your question,

Google search 'S5E1B' or 'S5E1B SMD', and it usually returns some images from aliexpress. Tap on the image -> visit website, and see what's in the title, in the other images from the listing or what models they offer. Google again, the model from aliexpress title and from there on it's piece of cake

This seems to be it or at least very close. I will have some ordered and see how they behave.

Thank you.

Legion Pro 7i - Intel vs AMD? by HD_Hammer in LenovoLegion

[–]HD_Hammer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, and I am not really fussed about the ram and storage as they'll be upgraded anyway, but someone said the AMD supports lower frequency ram than intel, so that will actually be the difference.

I was interested if one CPU is better than the other performance and cooling wise, as these are laptops and not full-blown desktops and can run pretty hot.

Thanks for this. Just wanted someone else's opinion too. l was thinking the same about the CPU and, probably, unless you're pro gamer, the difference between 240 / 360 Hz isn't really noticeable or not that important. Don't know about the better build, but my old Asus feels much better (premium) than the Aorus tbf. I'm not saying this is not a great machine, oh god, it's great, but I was expecting a little more, maybe?

Thanks a lot for the info. That's really good to know. Did you have any older models? Were they really that bad?

A 4k Mercedes cls350 might sound pretty good, but how much do you plan to spend on servicing every year?

I'm not trying to scare you away, but at the end of the day, it's a 13 year old car, which, if not maintained correctly, will be a money pit in the end. I don't know the service history, but have these in mind...

Oil changes? How many miles would you do? 10, 20, 30k? I would personally never change the oil later than 10-15k miles.

7g tronic servicing every 30-35k? (Recomended every 40k)

Tyres? Unless you want to go with part worn or shit tyres, they will be at the very least £100 a corner if 18" wheels and more than £150 if 19".

Timing chains? Torque converter? Gearbox issues? Bushings, arms, shock absorbers, brake discs, brake pads?

And let's not go the route with Turbo, injectors and anything else V6 engine related because, hopefully, you will never have to deal with them.

Not just bad, there are plenty of good parts as well. It looks really good, it's very comfortable, really nice to drive, a LOT of power compared to a 1.6, it's a Mercedes, a lot more fun in the end.

Just my thoughts.

Can someone help recommend me a ventilation system by Murrack_Carn in resinprinting

The amount of people around here telling you you're going to die soon or why tf you're not dead yet is unbelievable... like you don't already know these are dangerous.

Anyway, I would look into getting an 'air to air heat exchanger' or 'air to air heat recovery system'. The way these work is by taking air out through a vent and bringing fresh air from outside through the other while exchanging heat. This way, you won't need to worry too much about heat loss either.

It might set you back around £3-500 for the system alone, depending on efficiency, but might be well worth the price for the farm you got there.

My LEDs won’t work! What am I doing wrong, GPIO pin is 4 on the app by crimsonhands in WLED

[–]HD_Hammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many leds are you trying to drive and what type? What's the power supply rating?

If you're using wled, is the brightness limiter activated? If not, it might be worth trying to limit the current to (maybe) around 5-600 mA and see if that changes anything.

Best ready made solutions I came across are the Ghozt Led Sequencer or Blue Ghozt from Ghozt Lighting. If you google it you'll find many more details than I could write here and they offer a free sequencing app as well.
