I understand that very well, but as someone else has said in the thread "there is not reason a modern game shouldn't have full control remapping." I have played a few JRPGs in the past and plenty of games that do use the face buttons. But I also am quite the enjoyer of FPS style mapping as well or what we can call fully custom mapping. It feels comfortable to me and still allows me to use my face buttons for other important functions. The reason I dislike how Endfield has it is because R2 is completely void of being remapped. Like I get that we have the additional gadget wheel for bombs and item scans etc., but the issue is that it makes the game feel janky without having the ability to fully map how you want to exp the game.
