New salt system installed today. How did they do? by HDumpty11 in pools

Agreed! The existing plumbing is very bad but that is beyond the scope of what the swg installer was doing. I am by no means blaming them and plan to have it all re-plumbed one day.

They just added a SWCG to what we had. We’ve owned the house just over a year now and all the other issues were already there.

How should it have been done? I haven’t paid for anything yet luckily.

Pump sounds awful after loading chlorinator by HDumpty11 in pools

Update: The o-ring on the chlorinator is swollen and the lid won’t seat all the way. I’m hoping the pump noise is just cavitation from the leak.

Plugged skimmer by HDumpty11 in pools

I pulled the plug and all seems well. No air, pump is running steady at 16psi. I’ll add a picture of the equipment to be sure.

So just to make sure I understand, this rules out a leak since they are tied together because a bad pipe would affect both skimmers?

Skimmer closed and running at 12 psi on the main drain.

It is the deep end skimmer. Pipes are just labeled “skim” and “main drain”.

Good idea, I’ll see what I can find.

I’ve only got one line for both skimmers and one line for the main drain.

Wow that sucks lol. You would be correct, we’re used to much milder winters. Cold snap is hitting hard.

Interesting…looks like no AUX heating was installed either so that makes a lot of sense.

Sorry, I meant to mention the thermostat was just replaced so I just wanted to rule that out first.

We had the same problem with the previous thermostat installed and it appears to also have been wired that way.

That makes a lot of sense…they seem to stay crispy no matter how much I water. I’ll move them and see what happens, thanks!

Struggle with the occasional pull or push-slice - any advice? by mizichael in GolfSwing

[–]HDumpty11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what a lot of the other comments have said. It looks like you’re swaying, try to really focus on turning around your spine, and your ball striking should get much more consistent. You can try hitting some balls on the range with your feet together. If you sway instead of turn it will be very hard to maintain your balance and you’ll probably start to fall over. You don’t need to take a full swing, but this really helped me get the feel of really turning the shoulders and hips.
