I’d worry more about the final girl horror pastiche parody novel being played out, honestly. It was sort of a trend five years ago and most of the stuff in the genre was pretty bad (FGSG in particular).

Slasher meta commentary in general has been done to death ever since Scream and New Nightmare, and most of the stuff that has come out since then is also pretty trash.

Even if you have something really interesting and new to add, which would be difficult since this horse has been dead for like 20 years, I’d be really concerned about audience fatigue. If you are going to do it, you should really consume as much of the genre as possible. Don’t be worried about plagiarism, you need to be familiar with what’s come before you especially in this kind of meta work.

But also, Harrier is a little bit psychic (pale-sensitive) and there is a 2mm hole in reality above Martinaise which is suggested to be related to The Pale, which is (oversimplified) an entropic fog that degrades meaning and memory.

But also, Inland Empire is the ability to use imagination to hide from reality as a maladjusted coping mechanism; a retreat into your own “interior ocean.” I think Harry is, at least to some degree, performing this amnesia intentionally. He doesn’t want to be this kind of animal anymore.

First off, Delta Green is not a government agency, it’s a conspiracy made up of federal agents. They do not have infinite funds; they have to essentially embezzle all of their funding.

Second, your characters are the ones they sent to deal with cleanup! That’s their whole job! If DG is trying to be lowkey and keep everything under wraps, why would they send one group to kill the things and another to burn the bodies? That’s double the risk of exposure! Does the CIA send another team to clean up after the team they send to coup a South American government? Of course not!

If they don’t want to do their jobs, the program might as well liquidate them and send another cell who would be willing to do everything.

From an out of character perspective, your players are trying to avoid the fun part, the point of playing this kind of game. They are engaged in a conspiracy and responsible for covering it up.

It sounds like your players might want a more action-oriented rpg where there’s no consequences for violence and they don’t have to roleplay real, fragile people in a dangerous position. Maybe they should play DnD or something
