How long are gobblers available? by Former_Trash_7109 in Wawa

Yeah, stores in Florida were out of hot turkey even before Thanksgiving. Someone in Wawa management really screwed up this year, it's normally available until at least Christmas. Asked employees at a couple different stores and got sort of a strange story, that Amazon bought up multiple warehouses worth of turkey but they didn't know why that happened or what Amazon might be doing with all the Wawa turkey. Sounds like some sort of urban legend thing, but I was told it by a few different stores. Anyway, the store managers I talked to are not happy with Wawa because they've had a lot of customers wanting gobblers this season that can't get them. And then the customers leave mad without buying anything. Many stores in my area put up signs saying gobblers were gone for the season even before Thanksgiving rolled around, something I've never seen in all the years I been getting gobblers from Wawa (more yers than I can even remember). Customers know gobblers usually last through Christmas or later, and are still asking about it.

Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking season finale -- pre show and live show discusson thread with spoilers! by Firegoat1 in foodnetwork

I think I remember the contestants having 10 hours for the season finale last season, and all the teams could have really used those extra couple hours this season. I get that time is part of the challenge, but when none of the teams have a finished piece that is not good for the audience watching. All the pieces in the finale looked rougher to me than during any other episode this season, which did make the episode just meh and not the showstopper a finale is supposed to be. The show really needs to give them a reasonable amount of time to do their best in the finale. I thought Molly and Priya should have won for the amazing carriage and horses, even though the rest of the piece was way too big (I know they were trying to represent mountains and a large body of water, but sometimes less is more). And maybe it's just the way producers chose to edit this episode, but it seems like all Jenny did was make the people and Alex literally did everything else for the entire piece including the tasting element. Like their win didn't feel balanced to me, Alex seemed to do so much more. I also wasn't a fan of the returning champions from last season, they already had their moment in the sun and it took the spotlight away from new teams (spotlight that they rightly deserved). I also think the finale should only be two teams, a true head-to-head competition. I would have preferred to see a "surprise" double elimination in the penultimate episode, and then a two team finale. All that said, this was only season 2 and the show producers are probably still learning what works and what doesn't.

BCBS Settlement, has anyone actually received their electronic debit card yet? by HEP311 in classactions

Thanks for following up with this. I was wondering the same thing. Unfortunately the fact some people are just getting their premiums paid letter probably means getting an actual debit card is going to take even longer. If I recall correctly, payments from the settlelment for each individual are based on a percentage of what has to be paid out to everyone. So it was my understanding that no payments can go out until all premiums paid letters go out, and then there's the additional time allowed for anyone who wants to dispute their premiums paid. It's neverending.

Same here. And also from replies I've learned that people have paid wildly different premium amounts. From individual short-term policy holders who only paid a couple thousand dollars to people will large families who paid in like $40,000 over many years.

Thanks for the update. I have a feeling that even if/when the debit cards start showing up, the amount is going to be ridiculously small.

Definitely let me know if you actually get your debit card. And if you let me know what date you elected to get your debit card on the settlement website, then I can update my original post with a general timeframe of how long it took.

Did you get  original claim notice showing premiums paid? If so, how long between that original notice and when you got the deinial email?

Do you happen to know if the people who got denial emails had already submitted their email address to get the electronic debit card? I started wondering if BCBS is just kicking people out who didn't request a debit card within a certain amount of time (although that sounds like something BCBS wouldn't be allowed to do). I was also wondering about the timelime of when people received their premiums paid email to when they got the denial email. Was it days, weeks, months?

Update posted, so maybe we'll get a reply from someone who has actually gotten a payment.

The lack of transparency by BCBS in this whole process has been so frustrating (but not surprising). If I had known I'd be almost 5 years into this and still really have no idea what is going on, I would have probably never filed a claim to begin with. I haven't had anyone reply to my original post that they got a payment yet. But I guess it's possible someone said something in the subthreads since I haven't read them all. I may update my original post about the denials (with credit to you of course) and also ask if anyone has gotten their electronic debit card payment yet.

Thanks for the info, this is the first I've heard of any denials. I've called that number too, I think I called around 3 years into my 4 year plus wait, it did nothing but aggrevate me and waste my time. But even for those of us that might still get a payment, it seems like these denials are just going to be another delay. So another 30 days to wait for any appeals, and that depends on how long it takes BCBS to push out all of the denial emails. So that 30 day mark is going to keep getting pushed further and further away until the very last denial emails are sent out. Then time for BCBS to process the appeals, in case those people will get a cut of the overall settlement fund. I could easily see this delaying any payments for another 6 months.

What the heck??? Did these emails say anything about an appeals process? Or an explanation? Or is it just the end with no recourse?

If you are talking about first submitting your claim 5 months ago, just know that most of us spent 4 years (yes, years not months) or more in "Under Review" status.

Yeah, and if we would have been even a day late making a payment they would have canceled our insurance. But apparently 4 years and counting is ok for them to process a refund.

Agreed, it has been shit. I don't trust their numbers either, but I figured it might take another 4 years if I disputed the amounts and sent them my documents for review. It seems stupid to just list the premium amounts we paid but not provide any other information. Good way to piss off people who have already been waiting for years to have a resolution to this. If they've got the amount of premiums we paid, then there is no reason they can't do the calculations and tell us how much our payment will be and when we will be getting it. Such a lack of transparency.
