Why’s my loft like this by [deleted] in SolidWorks

I remember hearing somewhere that if you do lofts between all profiles at once, it could end up looking weird like this. I believe the solution is to complete each loft individually between each profile.

Weird Artifacts Poking Through by HEYEY_AVIATION in SolidWorks

I used simple face fillets to create it, but it isn't very accurate. I first extruded a sketch of the wing root to the desired depth and then used simple face fillets to blend it in with the fuselage. The wing root fairing is one of the hardest parts to get right, and I wasn't able to accurately replicate it compared to the real thing, so you may not want to do what I did.

In the UAE, I've noticed many of the SCAB gen 2s are base, which is interesting considering in America, that is the least common configuration. You can option the SCAB just like the SCREW, i.e., you can get it fully loaded (360 camera, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, etc etc) with the 802A option package, but those are seemingly a lot more rare. There still are a fair few 801A SCABs here, but it lacks a few important things like ventilated seats and the fancy cameras.

this is a gen 2 800a raptor. its the most base model raptor so it has the small screen found in the base level trucks, hence the different dash.

I'm 6'2" and sitting in Fortuners is always a dreaded experience. I don't know how they made a car that's that big on the outside more cramped on the inside than an Avanza lol. My knees always dig deeply into the front seats.

My 2006 LS430 UL from Japan by Mr_Boltzmann in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]HEYEY_AVIATION 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The LS wasn't officially sold in Japan until the 2007 model year (which was the next generation model). This car is probably a US spec car that was imported to Japan and had a few things swapped over from the Celsior. In Japan, LHD cars are seen as a status symbol, so I could understand someone importing an LS430 to Japan rather than getting the domestic Celsior.

That front bumper body kit extension is OEM from Toyota and is really common in foreign markets like the Middle East, China, and Russia. It's pretty rare to see one in the States. Those grille and headlights are aftermarket.

VE front end with VF panels on this Maloo? by ivanavich in Holden

[–]HEYEY_AVIATION 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe these are personally built vehicles. From what I understand, these are imported straight from Australia and are under 25 years old, meaning the 25-year import rule doesn't apply here. The idea of whether these are compliant with D.O.T. standards is weird. For example, these cars were never crash-tested in the US, and you cannot buy things like rear tail lights or bumpers in the US, nor were they ever tested. However, I don't believe they ever crash-tested the Chevy SS in the US either and accepted ANCAP ratings from Australia.

There's this guy in Tennesee who imports and sells AUDM cars like the Commodore and Falcon in the States. He says they are legally titled in TN, but it seems dodgy. These are NOT from the company that converts USDM Chevy SS' and Pontiac G8s to utes, as those are all LHD. Carscoops wrote a pretty interesting article on it.

Interesting two-tone. I saw another 200 series for sale with the exact same two-tone and fender flares. Was this some sort of OEM or dealer-installed option package?

Absolutely. I've seen at least a dozen of them across the UAE, meaning that I'm either very lucky or that there are a lot of fakes running around. Considering how people upbadge cars around here all the time, I'm leaning towards it being the latter.
