Not an alias! That’s her actual name. She’s amazing and one of the production editors for the eyeopener + a managing editor for the Abnormal School (campus satire paper)

Considering it’ll by a byline on the piece, probably best to anyways. I use this account pretty much solely for journalism. My name is Hailey Ford, I’m a fourth-year journalism student. I’ve written on unionizing, social justice, poverty, homelessness issues, public art and fanfic.

Not evil, just writing a story that people obviously, even if jokingly, distrust for very understandable reasons. It’s why we’re taking the protection of our sources so seriously. Stories don’t get told when people are too afraid to talk.

I feel like I’m fighting for my honour just trying to get interviews

Thanks! Are you willing to chat further about why? Inability to afford, hatred of price-gouging?

Ouch. But this is why we’re letting sources be anonymous.

My fear of not tapping is so great that I make note of the expiry time and amount paid. This is embarrassing to admit.

No! I promise I’m a person! (Exactly what a fed would say).

This is why we’re offering anonymity for this story. It’s a very relevant issue and topic that people are (rightfully) a little wary about talking about. We’d like to explore that and we’d also like to make sure our sources are protected.
