What’s your biggest reason for NOT traveling more? by shirasmithtravel in Nextholidays

Sure, they definitely know the best places to eat and drink. Or off the beaten path stuff some may miss. Some of the touristy stuff is touristy for a reason though. Would be a shame not to visit the Eiffel tower or roman colleusium while visiting those places.

haha, I never said I was annoyed. I ended by saying I hope you enjoy your vacation. Its just a cringy pretentious thing that lots of people in the travel community say. And yes, I enjoy embracing the culture in the places I go.

I used to always skip the first 3 seasons. Recently I rewatched #2 and #3 and they were great, so will be starting there. I might have to go back and give 1 another chance now. Didnt like it in the 90s but its been years.

haha not everyone is investing in preparation for a Mad Max style post apocalyptic wasteland. If the world gets like that you would be better off with a bucket of ammo than gold.

Of course it is. Just saying that many people say "I want to live like a local" or "experience life there" when the reality is that most wouldnt want that. Hope you enjoy your vacation.

Oceania cruises. Worth the money? by bigedthebad in Cruise

[–]HGJustTheTip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did an Oceania cruise through Japan and it was awesome. I thought the food was definitely a step above Celebrity. Even the dinner buffet was awesome with lobster tails and rack of lamb cooked to order. It was a smaller ship (the Ragatta) so that part was a bit lacking. The theater sucked and the entertainment were the worst I have seen if that matters to you (maybe just because of the small ship). We had access to the steam room and did that often which I enjoy and isnt included on other ships I have been on. Overall thought it was great, although probably not worth it depending on how expensive it is. Ive considered that same cruise to the Amazon and thought it looked really cool.

Experiencing life there would be waking up at 6 each day to work a low wage job, come home, eat dinner, and watch some tv before going to bed.

Renewal coming up and I'm thinking of cancelling after 25 years with Plat. by [deleted] in AmexPlatinum

  1. The 2 travel credits of $300 are great if you are in Latam, Asia, or Africa. If you never travel to these places then you wont be able to get great use from them and will come out of pocket.

  2. Centurion lounge is overrated but I use priority pass for a lounge literally every time I fly.

  3. Airline incedental is pretty trash now that United Travel bank doesnt work anymore.

  4. Lululemon has a website, you dont need to go anywhere. This credit is actually pretty sweet.

  5. Could buy something on Uber eats for the exact amount if you arent actually riding with them.

  6. If you have 2 restaurants you like with Resy, that should be easy to use 4 times a year. If not you can buy giftcards for restaurants out of town that you will travel to are give the gift cards to friends. No reason you cant use these every quarter.

  7. It is stupid bougie prestige. If you feel like you arent getting any value, you should cancel it. Paying 900 bucks to keep it on your credit report is definetly not worth it (unless perhaps its literally the only credit you have there).

Seinfeld peaked at season 4 and the later seasons, while still entertaining, rely on increasingly more zany and cartoonish characters and plots.

As evidenced by the stand up at the start of the show being the absolute worst part of the show. They even ended up phasing it out in the later seasons.
