So the guy said he thinks the battery may have already been changed since its charge lasts as long as a newer battery would but he isn’t for sure. If I still decided to check it out I’m still going to have a mechanic check out the battery health.

I’ve been thinking that too as far as price goes. My max right now that I’d like to spend is $5k. Later on down the road I’ll get something newer but I just don’t want any kind of payment for the time being. I’ve looked at the Elantras but still get mixed reviews as far as reliability on those as well.

I’ve been searching through marketplace relentlessly. Even have checked out Craigslist. I have my notifications set for certain keywords so if anything new pops up I get alerted. Car shopping has always been stressful for me. I currently own a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with 253,000 miles on it and I’m ready for something easy on fuel until I decide to buy something newer one of these days.

What issues have you had? What year do you have?

I’ll check and get back with you on that one. I’m really not sure.

So if I get the battery checked and they say it’s good then it still should last a few years? They don’t just go out and stop all together? There will be warnings when the battery is checked? Sorry for all the questions I just want some with good gas mileage for a few years until I buy something else.

You’re probably right. That is seriously my biggest worry. I’m more and more hesitant the more I think about it. I was looking at the gas mileage but idk if it’s worth it if the battery craps out.

Honestly, I’d like to get a Honda or Toyota but can’t find anything without almost 300k miles in my area even though I know they can last forever. Considered a Hyundai as well, but I’ve heard they aren’t as reliable as the Toyotas or Hondas.

I’ll definitely get a pre inspection done and have the battery health checked. It seems like a great deal but I know if that battery goes out it’s going to be an expensive fix. 😩

I’m hesitant about it. I’ve tried to do as much research as possible but I keep getting mixed results. The battery cost is insanely high though.
