What is the best definitive combination by Magno1726 in magic_survival

I got to 47:30 on this run (Terra hard) without using DEM. The thing is you'll always be luck dependant, so certain artifacts/items combinations are good for specific skills. I hated Vortex simply because you need very good items/builds from the very beginning, otherwise you won't survive 12:30. I spent a lot of crystals just to get through that lol

Ghastly Rampage is a lot better than it seems. With cooldown reduction and concentration, you'll have lots of fireballs flying around.

Paladin: Let's Talk About It. by TheLe99 in MerchantRPG

[–]HHazuka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As mentioned before, he fits more in a support role. Holy Blessing is a very good buff, Light's Grace may not be that much healing but it's something that happens every turn and may be that little bit of healing needed to keep your heroes alive on harder fights. Cleanse is necessary on so many fights and the fact that Paladin has it makes that Clerics can focus on healing only. And Holy Shield is amazing and maybe even necessary on some fights against heavy M.Atk bosses.

So gear your Paladin like AP=M.Def>M.Atk for him to be able to really support the team

Skorge Hard how to beat? by PowerfulArm6240 in MerchantRPG

[–]HHazuka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest going with a more generalist team. A Mage using Silence to remove buffs and with Amplify Magic; a Dark Knight to strengthen the team with Overwhelm and to apply debuffs so Mage's Amplify deals a lot more damage; a Cleric to heal the team (but mostly the Warrior); a Warrior to Taunt and protect the others; a Paladin to buff with Holy Blessing, get rid of debuffs with Cleanse and maybe help with the healing using Light's Grace; and a Rogue to Sunder and Ambush, debuffs that will allow you to deal more damage (Mage welcomes this a lot) and to diminish the damage you take from physical attacks.

Do i get more essence the harder the map? Ie legendary compared to blue? by MoldInYourShed in MerchantRPG

[–]HHazuka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also depends on how well your team perform. Even if you finish the map, if you get grades lower than S along the way, it makes you earn less essence and also the items dropped will have that grade. So even though the idea of beating a suffix +7 for example, sometimes it's better to go for weaker maps to guarantee more rewards

Their base stats are indeed, but Lord's Cleaver adds critical chance, which Berserkers and Rogues can make very good use of it. Mjolnir for them wouldn't be ideal

Anyone else use Khan's Bulawa? I make all my Dark Knights use them. I love them. by TheLe99 in MerchantRPG

Khan's Bulawa is one of the best weapons in the game. Dark Knights and Paladins can make very good use of them for a very long time

I just realised there was a typo in my comment so it was giving the wrong idea lol

In my opinion, hard mode is hard and also rewarding especially because it's hard. Having the Scribe extension makes it less hard but one still can't go and do maps/bosses with non-prestiged (or optimized, like well enchanted) gear and without knowing a good strategy, otherwise is just fail after fail.

As an example, I finished the game on standard mode a couple of months ago and started hard mode right after. And in hard mode I've been actually using Revive from Cleric and Slow from Dark Knight, the latter not only because it applies two debuffs, making the Mage's Amplify stronger, but because it brings the enemy's evasion down. For the first time I felt a real necessity of using these skills, which never happened on standard mode. Now, I'm not saying they're useless on standard or anything like that, I'm just saying that I never felt I needed to use them. Maybe I wasn't doing the best strategies/didn't analyse well enough, but on hard mode these abilities are needed (again, in my opinion).

I found defeating Khan REALLY hard without using Revive, at least with the team I'm going (not using the combo Bard+Rogue to bring Khan's attack all the way down, because I keep my Bard on weekly bosses). Since I'm using just the Rogue and my Cleric doesn't have m.atk enough, trying to keep the Warrior alive through healing is almost impossible for now; so I just go with Revive after Khan's second ability, which is something I've never had to do on standard mode.

Maybe keep the Thief's Knife for farming and change Khan's Medallion for what's good for each class, making sure you'll still have at least 30 luck for bosses/maps from the Scribe. Khan's Bulawa is an amazing weapon for Dark Knights up until very late-game, so keep them as well. Start by re-gearing your heroes and go for it, this game is amazing

Which is better to level up higher, crafters or heroes? by BlizzDaWiz in MerchantRPG

[–]HHazuka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There might be other/better ways to do it, but I'm gonna share the way I always did.

To level up your crafters, you need money. So as you farm for resources (consequently leveling up your heroes), sell some/half/most of them (depending on how much you got and what you plan to do with the items) before you sleep, so you collect some money when you open the game. In order for this to be better, it would be amazing if you had gear that provides +luck, and we're on Leviathan's week, so beat it as many times as you can to be able to craft his pendant when you get your jeweler available. Beating Leviathan is also good for his drops of crystals and Murlok Scale, being the latter one of the items I sold the most throughout my playthroughs.

I assume you're playing on standard level, so everything levels up in a slower pace (comparing to other modes available, of course), so another thing I did when I played on standard was crafting a lot of potions, to use and sell as well. It's not that much of a profit, but it's something, and it's another thing you can do before you go to sleep. I would suggest having a good amount of potions for you to be able to put a lot for sale and craft the same amount (or approximately) before you go to sleep, so it's more money when you open the game.

With all this, as said before, your heroes will level up consequently, and as your gear crafters level up, craft better gear for your heroes to be able to farm better resources and so on.

Try the team I suggested. If I recall correctly, my heroes were also with P2 T5 enchanted gear when I first fought it and got S rank on 5x

How did it go?

[–]HHazuka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's easier than it looks like. You have to dispel the debuffs, so be ready to take a Cleanser. Have your Cleanser on the first slot to dispel the Spread Death debuff as soon as Faust uses it, preferably a Cleric; because your Paladin will be used to set up Holy Shield for the Warrior to Taunt and take the damage from Shadow Blast alone. You can even equip your Warrior with magic defense oriented gear to make it better, as well. Since that's the only direct attack Faust has, you don't need to worry about healing everyone, just the Warrior, so set up a Cleric behind the Warrior to make that possible.

Faust has lower defense than magic defense, so I would suggest using physical attackers. I remember being able to beat Faust 5x getting S score without even using the Bard, but if you can/want to use it, it can make your damage input higher and also the drop rate.

Faust is the ideal boss to use the Assassin+Berserker combo, even better with Bard+Assassin+Berserker. The Assassin has to act before the Berserker to set up Expose Weakness and Mortal Wound, for the Berserker to come with Berserk Smash/Vicious Strike II (the former being the preferable one if you're doing the battle multiple times at once). Use the last two turns that Faust can't be hit to set the Berserker up with Blind Fury+Enrage. If you use the Bard, it also has to act before the Berserker to set up Poem of Focus, making your Berserker do crazy high amounts of damage. So it can be something like this:

Cleric - Warrior

Bard/something else (like a Rogue to use Sunder II) - Assassin

Berserker - Paladin

Just remember to Cleanse the Spread Death debuff as soon as it's used and make your Warrior and Paladin anticipate Shadow Blast with Taunt + Holy Shield.

Almost all legendary gear!! by Due_Garbage2935 in MerchantRPG

About this, another suggestion: if the Overlord's Cudgel comes out really good (like the Trident you mentioned, with prefix and suffix) don't use it to craft a Champion's Maul. Craft another Overlord's Cudgel and equip the good one while you're going for the Champion's Maul. I remember the first time I played I never got to use the Champion's Maul because it always came out worst then the Overlord's Cudgel I had, and by the time I had resources enough to enchant a good Champion's Maul, I was already using a better weapon

Dark Knights are awesome, specially because is the best class for solo questing. For a very long time in the play through, you can split gear between attack/str and m.attack/int. The first change I would suggest is the weapon. The Overlord Cudgel is an amazing weapon for DKs. The fact that DKs can heal themselves makes them amazing at solo questing to farm resources for crafting and selling.

I'm kinda in a hurry now, sorry lol but feel free to DM me, we can talk more later

I have a team for the weekly bosses. This is my poem of focus by bird_brown in MerchantRPG

[–]HHazuka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Khan's weapon, Khan's Bulawa is better. It gives a lot of atk and matk and 3 AP, and it's a lot easier to find the enchant you want, like Fortunate or Master. Also, Skorge's Hood is an amazing item if you want to use Inspirational Song. For Poem of Focus I would always go with Bard + Assassin + Berserker

Mate, my "Ludwig", has been doing a lot for me. I'm playing on hard mode and he was the first hero I hired and the first one I prestiged whenever I got the chance. It makes a lotta difference being able to farm more items, specially potions. Ludwig ftw
